PS2 Game!

Hey, everyone! 

Peacefully browsing through Yesasia and looking at the pretty DGM things, I saw something that caught my eye since I knew nothing about it: a PS2 game! I was like "Whaaa~?" but it hasn't been released yet (release date 11 September in Japan) so maybe this excuses my ignorance? Does anyone know anything about this? Is it coming over to Europe? Am I the only one living under a rock and not knowing anything about it?

"The title is D.Gray-man: Sousha no Shikaku (DGM: Capability of the Player. Refers to the whole thing about who's capable of piloting the Ark.) Apparently it's an adventure game with RPG-style battle scenes, though you can pretty much tell that from the screenshots, I think. It says it will have event CGs and character voice. Apparently you can also play the game as multiple characters.

For people who preorder the game at various Japanese stores, they will receive a drama CD as an extra -- it's titled "Kuro no Bansankai" (Black Dinner Party). It will feature the voices of Allen, Kanda, Rabi, and Komui. The plot summary says it's about Komui having a new addition to the Headquarters cafeteria built and then inviting the boys inside, except apparently he's planning something crazy and/or evil, lol. Besides the drama, apparently there will also be an interview with the seiyuu included. Depending on which Japanese store it's preordered at, the drama CD will have different special labels -- at Konamistyle it will be Allen, at Animate it will be Kanda, and at Amazon.co.jp it will be Rabi. Apparently each different label version will have a different seiyuu interview, so I'm guessing that Allen, Kanda, and Rabi will all have separate interviews."

Sadly these sorts of things almost never do :( But I guess you never know, the Naruto games came out and all... I honestly won't be that sad if this doesn't get localized, though. If it's anything like the DS game, then, well. XD;;; The DS game was a waste of cartridge space, quite honestly :( *was extremely disappointed*

I may be biased 'cause I'm a sony fangirl and I don't really like the DS but certainly a game for the PS2 would be more fleshed out than one made for a handheld? And maybe they learned from their mistakes on the first one? Here's to hoping so. (And I don't know why but every time I stumbled upon the DS game, I had this feeling of dread XD Glad to know my intuition is working properly)

Also, I'm really hoping the dub will spread out DGM and will generate more merchandise, including the import of the game =D I want REAL action figures, dammit >.< Not only those cute-as-hell chibis resting on my shelf X3

You more of a PSP girl? PS2 was my last most beloved console, but the DS got me with all its quirky games and gay lawyers and Japanese cookbooks and crap. It's practically all I play now 8D; (There's also the fact that I can't possibly afford a PS3 XD;;;)

Yeah, the DS game basically... retells the beginning of the anime. Badly. Like, taking out all the touching emotional parts, ruining the funny parts, and creating artificial difficulty with the combination of a confusing menu system and never properly explaining what you're supposed to do next :| I never beat it because it's hard even with a walkthrough and the play experience isn't actually any fun. :/

XDDDDD; Somehow I doubt we'll ever see "for playing with by little boys" type DGM action figures the way Naruto has. Don't get me wrong, I love DGM to pieces, but I have a hard time picturing it becoming a mainstream hit with the kids.

I'll be getting my PSP on Wednesday due to Crisis Core coming out here in Europe :3 (Yes, I buy consoles to play certain games XD) Seconded about my beautiful PS2 and not being able to afford a PS3 until the price comes plummeting down XD

...I'm suddenly glad I don't speak Japanese and don't own a DS or I'd have been tempted to play that O_O It would have probably ruined the story for me. My heart aches for you <3

I don't want it to be mainstream and gushed over by kids who can't even get the biblical references and just think Kanda is badass, either XD I just want them to make pretty things I can buy XD I had so little faith in DGM merchandise that when I walked into the store and saw the chibis, I was all "Fsdivhsoa whaaa~? Quick, grab them before they're sold out!" XD But action figures would be nice~! And, hopefully, with more choice than Naruto O_O All I see is Naruto and Sasuke >.< (I want Shika! XD) Bleach has more to choose from, imo. And they look much better, too... Ah, I got sidetracked XD Sorry about that!
