Nereide: A New Multifandom Game!

They called it the End War, and that's what it was. The war that destroyed everything as they knew it, leaving the surface world ravaged, and the people plagued by disease and deformity. The old world crumbled away, along with the bodies of over 90% of humanity. But even from great tragedy, there comes hope. The survivors, no longer divided, took to the sea in massive submarine vessels known as Nereides, each operating under the sovereign watch of Halcyon, the single nation-state that rose from the ashes of the dead world.

It is now the year 609. The memory of surface life has faded away and the population is beginning to fade, as well. But, discovery! The scientists of The Institute have created a portal between worlds, and an opportunity has presented itself. An opportunity for repopulation, for knowledge, and for advancement.

Perhaps an opportunity for something else.

Only moments ago, it was an ordinary day, maybe. Maybe it was the best day of your life - or the worst.

In the end it doesn't matter, because now you're trembling on your knees, and when you open your eyes, all you see is a wash of blue light over the cold floor below you. Looking around, you take in the metal door before you, and the semicircle of glass walls to your sides and behind you, each looking out at a deep blue expanse of lit and endless ocean. Cold air bites you like a thousand tiny needles prickling over every inch of skin. You realize you're naked just before someone drapes a robe over your back.

You look up into the smiling face of a man in a lab coat saying "Good Morning."

He says, "Welcome to your new home."

NEREIDE is a new panfandom game combining elements of science fiction, fantasy and horror in an post-apocalyptic setting. Characters are free to seek a normal life, or begin investigations into the dark underbelly of their new, seemingly idyllic new home.
