Seriously, I just decided to get back into DGM after years of bouncing around from one fandom to another. The first thing I did, of course, was search for stuff to read. Then I got all sadface because I'm stupidly picky and couldn't find nearly enough good fic to satisfy me.

But! I'm currently in the process of making my own recs here (http://yumemiya.livejournal.com/tag/recs%3A%20fanfiction), so maybe you'll be able to find something you haven't read already.

Are you limiting yourself to just pairing fics? Or would friendship fics do okay as well?

I'm thinking of shamelessly recommending my own, except that my fics have no pairings and definitely no yaoi.

It's true, there are not many fics of my favorite pairing ( Tyki x Kkanda) but the one's that I have found are AMAZING.
But I'll be damned if I could find them again.

BUT ainoche's 'Scold's Bridal is quite possibly th best thing I have read-EVER. It was porn AND it got into my head.

The fanart section is off my grasp because I do not know japanese but I sure as hell will read the fanfic section. And tbh, I think the DGM fics in ffnt decreased somewhat...

Indeed, even my own favourites pairings (Allen x Link, Alma x Kanda)are not given much attention on ffnt, and had I not been a multi-shipper I know I would have broken down already from the lack of new good fics to read and tag.

It's more angsty than friendship though. Kanda Lenalee friendship and other stuff, mostly one shots

I feel kinda guilty but I'm gonna rec my own fics, only if you're interested though. I used to write quite a bit of DGM fic (mostly AreKan) not so much anymore....sigh.

Oh geez, Scold's Bridle, I remember that one. (Tyki/Kanda and Kanda/Lavi, not...necessarily in that order...I'll never understand the whole hierarchy thing in slash pairings...) It's...kind of a mindfuck, well written and with a relatively happy ending but kind of psychological and brutal to get through, considering how it's named after one of the medieval torture devices employed over the course of the story. (Alas, poor Kanda. XD; ) I read it on the LJ; it's probably also on ff.n, I'm just not sure where. http://ainoche.livejournal.com/979.html <-- first chapter.

I kind of wish there were an indexing/search system like fanfiction.net's for all the fic on LiveJournal, but at least there are communities dedicated to bringing them together, yeah?

I wish there were an indexing-search system like ffnt too. It'd facilliate the searchs for specific communities we users wanna see.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. ^^; One of these days I'll have the perfect storm of bored + procrastinating and I'll run around and make a central index of all LJ communities involving D.Gray-fic...that's on my to-do list right after "index and tag all kinkmeme entries" ~~and right before "acquire pony"~~.

It's okay lol. I'm actually sad that Alma is hated so much by DGM fans though, considering that he beat Allen in the Martyr complex and totally ressembles him personality and physycally-wise (if you substract a few details that is.)

Aah, Lee Isidor. Wonderful, awesome, greatest of all Tyki-Kanda fic writer. I have already read all of his fics and placed him under watch for any new updates, but thank you for mentionning him again. That person brings back good memories <3

Seeing as the two of you are fans of Lee Isidor, do either of you have any idea what happened to Sketchy Theater? I got the alert for chapter 12 one day and all of a sudden the story had ceased to exist.

(There's another author on ff.n who writes TykiKanda, if I can think of her name; I know she wrote a story about cellist!Kanda going to a music school on scholarship that was accused of being similar to Sketchy Theater, and I think she wrote another one where Tyki was a stage magician...ummm. Frick.

I PMed Lee Isidor about Sketchy Theater about a year ago or so (I think?) and asked him why the story got deleted. From what I remember of his reply, he said he deleted his story because he was not satisfied with it. Said he'd rewrite it someday, but not sure about posting it again on ffnt. I can't find the reply in my inbox so I don't know what else we discussed after this. :(

Personally I think the whole Alma thing's hilarious--it takes a hardcore troll to have your moneymaking tall-dark-and-bitchy character elope with his undead transgendered ex-girlfriend from a former life. The story's also horrifically tragic and all that, a real tearjerker, I just have a habit of focusing on the lulz too much. Although, I'd say he's a little more like Lavi in his mannerisms, in being annoying and trying *so hard* to be ~friends~; he's not quite at Allen's level of martyrdom--doesn't have the hero complex--but he's plenty suicidal all the same. I've actually heard boy!Alma described as Allen's and Lavi's illicit love child. ~~Frankly I always thought he most resembled Umino Iruka and/or Rock Lee from Naruto, at least physically...~~ I guess people hate him because he threatens their pet Kanda OTPs, and/or appears to have removed Kanda from the story altogether? Sir Ponytail is rather popular with the fangirls, and it's almost inevitable that a canon romantic interest of his would be reviled.

Nah, I don't have the attention span for that--I'm currently monogamous with D.Gray, so that's the only fandom I really care about at the moment. ^^;

Environmentally Friendly, eh? That one is pure epicness from start to end. It comes close to Any Way You Want it hehe.
