Someone asked me for this picture, so I'm tacking it on with this icons post so as not to clutter the community.

Old D.Gray-Minion University (ODGMU)

It'll be a collection of in character skits of the D.Gray-Man characters surviving college! I'm about to start my freshman year at Old Dominion University, so there will be plenty of inspiration and humor! I hope to post the first few tonight. They'll be posted in my regular journal, razeasha, for now. When I get an ample supply and figure out the link system...I'll probably post a bunch of them in one post here. Alas, they will not be among my other stories on fanfiction.net, because I try to keep the crack there minimal.

The one with Lavi and the flute gave me some giggles. Haha...

Yay! I'm glad that you liked them. Kanda playing the violin is funny too, but it didn't make a good icon...

The violin and the flute are the instruments that I play...that makes me feel special, somehow.

My "right half" (one of my best friends) plays the flute, piccolo, tin whistle, and boran(sp? It's the Irish drum.) She wants to learn the violin too. Most of my friends play instruments...(I'm not that talented.)

Can you imagine KANDA playing the VIOLIN?! I think he's more likely to use the bow to threaten people, like he does with Mugen...

Uh, definately not. It seems too much of a pansy instrument for him to play. I can see him yelling at people for trying to get him to play, though.

And geez, it seems like you have some seriously musical friends! Ah well. Talent is all musical, it comes in other forms...like icon making. I used to have Gimp, but I could never make icons...it's too small a space for me to look spiffy. xD

Ugh, I mean, isn't. It isn't all musical. Whoops!

I'm not good at graphics either...
I'm more of a foreign language nerd! *hugs her books* I go into language withdrawal, when I don't study them! I'm addicted! I study Spanish, French, Japanese, and Chinese. I'll be taking Japanese this fall in college!

Oh, that's so cool! I took five years of french, but I moved and now I'm stuck in my second year of spanish. >.<
I wish I could speak japanese, though...

Oh, I think that French is easier than Spanish in some aspects...Spanish is easier in others, but overall...I definitely think that French is easier...I'll take the "house of etre" over the "fuijy monster" any day!

I totally agree with you. That and for some reason I have a lot of trouble speaking Spanish when French is on my mind...if you ask me a question in Spanish I'm very likely to answer it in French. At least I'm pretty good at reading Spanish...I just have to take an extra minute to process it all so I don't think too quickly and come up with the wrong answer.

I've taken 5 years of Spanish and 2 years of French...French probably came easier BECAUSE of Spanish, but seemed all together easier. I rarely mix them up, unless I'm stressed...but it's little things, like saying aussi instead of tambien. Or, it gets annoying when I know a word in one, but not the other. I manage to keep my languages fairly straight. (good thing, since I study 4...)

Ah...you, my friend, have a gift. I just get confused too easily. You ask me how old I am in Spanish and I'll gleefully answer "J'ai _ ans." I don't even realize I've made a mistake until somebody looks at me weird and asks me what on earth I'm talking about.

"_ ans"...what a funny age! (just teasing!)

Yeah, I suppose I do have a gift...no wonder why I'm working toward a foreign language major...

That's funny. My Spanish teacher accidentally spoke all in Spanish to my Chinese teacher one day...poor Qian Laoshi had no Idea what Sra. Martes had said!

A friend of mine and I made up Espanese (aka Chinish or Espanyu) It was our own mix of Spanish and Chinese usually used as a joke or for sewaring at each other...the most used one was "Ch!nga Ni!" From the Spanish Ch!ng@r which means to F*** and the Chinese Ni meaning you. He was a fellow foreign language nerd. He also took Spanish, French, and Chinese, bit I took levels 5, 2, and 1 respectively and he took 3, 1, and 1 respectively, so we only had Chinese together. (We had the same US Government class too, so we spoke it then too.)

That sounds absolutely hilarious. Sadly, none of my friends at my school know any French, but...I'm working on that a little bit at a time. Otherwise I think I would have some sort of little language floating around as well!

And I guess you do, then. Unfortunately for me, I'm still in high school. *fail*

Don't worry, that means that you have plenty of time!
I JUST graduated, so I'm barely out of high school. Don't stress about your age/grade.

Honestly, for the past four or so years, I couldn't wait to turn 18, and now that I'm about to, I feel like I could wait and that I need more time.

(Is this how he felt? *cries* I want him back!)

I know what you mean. My boyfriend is on the verge of turning 19, and he just graduated this year as well...he's always complaining about how he 'wasted time' and all that...

The "he" was my best male friend. He committed suicide 3 days before he would have turned 18. He talked to me about how he was not looking forward to his birthday...It's a long story that you probably don't want to hear...

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. That's horrible...but I'm sure he had a reason for doing it.
Just don't do the same!

He had a lot of reasons for doing it. He told me all of them the day that he did it, but didn't tell me that he was thinking of doing it. When we were talking, he said that he felt as if I was the only person that really cared about him. I was out walking my dog for a few minutes the last time he called me. Two minutes after he called me and did not get an answer, he was gone.

He found a very permanent solution for many temporary problems.

(The story gets crazier and sadder, but I don't know if it's time to say it all.)

I was suicidal about two years ago, but then I gained coping skills and life experience. After Josh's death, I know that I will never kill myself.

Well, that's life I guess. I think most people reach a point in their life where they feel a little bit suicidal...I've been there, you've been there, he was obviously there...I had a friend a lot like that, and I know that I'll never do myself in simply because what she did made such a big impact on my life.

I guess the best thing to say is that he's in a better place...

My beliefs are different...he will not reach that "better place" for a long time. He's got "a new lesson."

No offense to your beliefs, of course. I didn't mean it like that. To be honest, I'm borderline Atheist, but my family is Roman Catholic and I've been brought up that way, even if I think differently now.

She really didn't tell anybody about how bad she was feeling, and we really had no idea because she always put on a smile whenever people would see her or anything...I had plans for her to come over and spend the night, and I was talking to her twin brother on the phone while I waited for her to finish packing...after a while, though, he went to check on her and found that she'd done herself in with a knife from the kitchen. Not a butter knife, but one of those heavier ones that people keep in chopping blocks. It was so scary for everybody, and even more so because she decided that leaving us all messages and writing on the wall would be a nice way to be remembered.

I could never commit suicide now...not after all that.

That sounds awful. Josh was much less dramatic. His younger brother heard the gunshot from the next room. We think that he was bipolar, but he was such a recluse that his family didn't notice. His girlfriend, Tori, who had broken up with him that day, is a very close friend of mine. She and I had been wondering if Josh was mentally OK, not nutty, but some emotional problems.

When they told me what happened at school the next day and asked me to take the day off, I refused. Tori didn't want to leave either, but her parents made her leave. (we were the only two informed ahead of time.) I remained at school, because I wanted to help all of the others who knew him to cope. I have seen death since I was 3 years old, so I am usually steeled to it. Josh was different. One of the last things that I told him was, "No matter what you do, or what choices you make, I will always love and support you." He made his decision, and I will have to support it for the rest of my life. I gave a speech at his service. (For the next week, people kept telling me how good my speech was. I really loved him.)

I found that the best way for me to cope was to help others. I also couldn't be alone for the next two weeks.

That's so horrible...I'm sorry. I think that's wonderful that you chose to help the others, though. It's so kind of you.

Yeah. She is lovable. I think she really shows how people can be hard on themselves and insecure. Whenever she laughs or smiles, it makes me happy. O think that there's a bit of Miranda in all of us.
