THE TOTALLY NORMAL EVENT: Saturday, 28th OMG TOMORROW

So, some IRL issues got in the way of me posting this sooner but then I realized omg, cosplay communities might not know the greatness of The Totally Normal Event. And yes! Relevant to DGM as I will be cosplaying Steampunk-esque!Allen Walker and am very much looking for other DGMers to make grand appearances!

The Totally Normal Event essentially is a homecoming for ANY cosplayer in ANY fandom (anime/manga, videogames, fantasy, sci-fi, mythological, STEAM PUNK) and features OMG REALLY GOOD MUSIC.

LIVE PERFORMERS! INCLUDE (and are not limited to):

-The Dresden Dolls' Brian Viglione
-Luminescent Orchestrii w. Sxip Shirey
-Freezepop
-Barry Louis Polisar (songs for people who would like to sell annoying family members, defeat evil teachers, and get their protein from eating children)
-VOLTAIRE - yes, THAT Voltaire
-Isaac Bonewits ~ Magic for World Domination
-The White Elephant Burlesque Society
-David W. Jacobsen
-Psych Corporation ~ you gamble with the Shadow Queen
-Lilith Lore ~ Poison Apples and Pretty Witches
-Captain Velocity
-Mary Cyn
-Daniel the Jester
-The Mighty Mike Saga
-Aaron Glotfelter, the Erotic Hypnotist <-- For the Older Kiddies - I did this once, and wow, actually... was AMAZING.
-Princess Sunshine
-George Bogorad ~ Whip Demonstrations! It's really cool
-Ed and Norma of GoG ~ Dancing in the Gates of Magick: Japanese Butoh Dance and Energy and The Surreal Mind <-- DEFINITELY awesome

Seriously, and those are JUST the performers (also, yours truly will be running a cosplay (and a dash of maybe some yaoi) from 5:30-6:30 pm there!) As well, if you're coming from far, the hotel's rate is only $105 (when normally the rooms are in the $300s!) Seriously.

Tickets are CHEAP. $30 at the door OR If you're a Student with Valid ID, You can get in for a mere $20! The event starts at Noon and goes into the wee hours of night! There's dancing, MUSIC, and oh, yeah, I forgot - ALL DAY LARP!

So what are you guys waiting for?! Why bum around wondering what to do tomorrow when you have an OMFG CONVENTION LIKE THING where you have chances to MEET really awesome performers?! I'll have you know that if you're lucky enough to drink with Voltaire, he's a lovely conversationalist when inebriated. :P

Takers, anyone? I'd be more than happy to answer any questions! The event is in Whippany, NJ and a lot of people are looking for Carpool buddies from Everywhere (Upstate NY, Virginia, you name it - it's just that cool!)

I will be cosplaying Steampunk-esque!Allen Walker from D.Gray-man (Okay, okay, so essentially it's his tuxedo outfit but I get a shibby monacle, Crowned Clown hair, and maybe, if I'm lucky, a cane so I can fend myself off from the Totally Not Normal Infiltrators). I also hear that there may be some Men in Black lurking about.

Can you please LJ-cut most of this? Thanks.

(aigjeiog I was born/lived for seven years near Whippany. But I then moved to Florida, and now Hong Kong, so I can't go. D: D: D: Ahhhhh, this would've been so up my alley, too.)

(I would love to help, but no one on my f-list lives close enough to go on such short notice. In fact, the only person who'd be really interested lives in Cali [she goes to college in Ohio, but wrong time of the year])

(Argh, I wish we had that sort of stuff here, but Hong Kong is pretty boring cosplay-wise. I hear next to no one cosplays at Ani-Com, though I don't know about Comic World.)

I can't go...I have to help my mom sell art, and I live in Virginia.
I'd love to see pictures of your Steam Punk Allen! I do a Gothic Lolita Allen...I also have a friend who is working on a Steam Punk Lolita costume.

Well, my parents wouldn't be cool with their 17 year and 359 day old legally blind virgin daughter driving up to NJ with a bunch of strangers she met online...Plus, money is an issue. I'm saving up for my trip to Japan in August.

Are you using a wig or your hair?

The crown clown hair is so sexy! I plan to get my Hair cut that way, if I cosplay Allen's 3rd arc uniform...My hair is naturally white, so no bleach is needed.

Yeah, you should think about it before you bleach your hair...My friend bleached hers for Misa Amane from death note. It looked good, but her natural color was so beautiful! Plus, you have to redye for your roots every so often...
