IN A CITY ONCE WROUGHT BY CRIME AND DESTRUCTION... out of the ashes came a new hero.
The skies are blue and the children smiling; skyscrapers piercing the skyline and a sparkling bay sits under a picturesque bridge. There's an extensive art museum on Washington Avenue, but that's not what you would be looking for. There are more interesting things to be found in this city, to be sure. In particular, if you were to be walking down 6th street heading towards the west part of town, right in front of the Veropolis Bank at approximately four past five, you may have seen him. The legend. The savior. The reason Veropolis is safe and the reason the skies are blue, the reason the children are smiling (and if you ask anyone, he's also the reason the art museum is so extensive): THE GUARDIAN. He was the one who brought hope when there was none. He was the one who made Veropolis the great, all-American city that it is today. It was the Guardian, after the city was overrun by crime and violence, who put a stop to it. It is the Guardian who is still shrouded in mystery. Maybe he lives among the people. Some say he might be the mayor of the city, Chief Radel. Some say he might be a banker, or a janitor or the person you least expect, but no one knows for sure. All the citizens of Veropolis are is grateful to the great man who restored order to their wrecked home. But all good things must come to an end. You know that. And if you don't, you should. There's something dark lurking under the glossy surface of Veropolis, something that not even the Guardian will be able to stop. There always has been, really. The other side of the city has always been plagued with dirt and destruction; falling to the wayside as Uptown Veropolis flourished under the helping hand of the Guardian and being left to rot as everything else around it grows and grows. The Guardian is a hero here, though, too. Maybe because he has given them hope. Or maybe he has given them someone to blame. Will you be the hero? Will you be that something dark? Or will you be caught in the crossfire, holding together your life with slippery fingers? Only time will tell. veropolis is a multifandom AU rpg based on a comic book-esque setting.
