Merry Christmas, a week early! I come bearing a scanlation of my favorite D.Gray-man doujinshi of all, "Classic" by Kain.

NOTE: It is my understanding that Orchard Dreams also plans to release this doujinshi, and I ask am asking out of respect to their wishes that everyone also give their translation a look when it comes out. Orchard Dreams is typically much more thorough than I am, translating the preface and postscripts, as well as the ambient sound effects. I personally don't like doing those things (I find them to be very tedious and time-consuming) so I don't. So please, when orchard_dreams releases theirs, please don't hesitate to download theirs as well! After all, more translations mean more fun, right? According to the typesetter, Orchard Dreams has dropped the project after all. Bummer. Oh well, you guys still have my version!

Thank ya for this; it was a nice story.
Although, I did find one little flaw in it...

When Lavi said "Back when it was you..." he was implying the time when Allen's arm was destroyed, meaning that this story was placed after that...
If so, why is Allen's hand still red and demonic, when it should have transformed?

Well, it's only red on the cover, which if you notice, has them in their old uniforms as well. We don't really see the shoulder area, which would tell us if it's the old arm or the new one. I'm guessing Kain played it safe, since at the time we probably didn't know much about Allen's new arm, at least not at the time that she drew the doujin. It was published in 2006, but it might well have been drawn in 2005.

Ah, but isn't it kind of obvious that it's his old hand in black and white too?
I'd understand if they drew this during the period that Allen was training with Bak and Fou, introducing the other members' new uniforms [it showed Lavi's] yet not Allen's new arm. But otherwise... it's a fault on Kain's part
