But DGM kind of lost its charm lately D:, I mean I like where the story is heading, I just don't like how it is told.
But, yeah. The Christmas suit was definely worth all the waiting xD

I was expecting the 14th thing but how this chapter ended, damn, it's awesome <3 It has certainly revived my love towards the manga.

And Kanda as Santa is love <3 Beats the last one with the earl as Santa.

I'm reading it now, and the onemanga version has 36 pages, including the Kanda crushing Road doll scene. Is that all, I'm not missing anything right? Either way its still confusing me o.o;

After 3 total style change chapters, I'm only now beginning to tell Tyki and Cheryl(sp?) apart. Not to mention it took me until this one to realize that Road is the doll(why??), and the repeated interludes of talking to normal looking Alma also throw me off.

I'm glad she at least tied back one fact from the past, that scene in the first "new" chapter in the beginning where Noah looking new!Allen first appeared. Now please tie up the other loose threads T_T

I'm sort of disappointed too. I like some parts of it, but I don't like the sudden change in how it's being done. I think all of this came all too sudden.
And what's up with Kanda's hair? it's not just me right? some of his hair has gotten shorter by his face.

And the one handed fixing-his-hair thing was just awesome.

I'm guessing he was doing it quickly, so he just grabbed as much hair as he could and tied it, no time to check if it was perfectly done :P

I actually think he's using both hands. I zoomed in and his other arm isn't even in the picture. But on the left side of his face, by his ear, if you look closely, you can see little spots that aren't shaded. And Mugen's strapped to his back/shoulder. Lol, I don't even think it's possible to knot a hair tie, while running, with one hand. Even for someone as epic as Kanda.

But yeah, every picture of him was yummy. And he doesn't look girly like last chapter. Man, his cloak/cape thing is sexy xD

I see what the problem is. She's too used to weekly. And now she's - enthusiastic and back and cramming too much too fast.

I love, really love that there aren't many/any panels dedicated to big fat nothings just to take up more space but oh - this is a erm - ... a bit-o-mash.

The 'Allen turned into a Noah' and 'Lookie Alma's alive' and 'that woman' and - a lot of things and no - aha - I got what's bothering me - a lot of things and no reactions.
At all.

Kanda isn't bothered Allen went Noah. Allen isn't as freaked out as he should be that he went Noah. Is everyone used to talking dolls?

In a manga I expect to see my 'BWUH?!?OMG!' mirrored in any one of the characters - it helps stress the 'THIS IS IMPORTANT LOOK WE'RE REACTING SO SHOULD YOU!' - here's it's - not stressed at all.

And... Allen-Earl - non-I mean - he was standing on the Earl!!!!
I get how utterly awesome comic relief is (that Ichigo-wtf faces chapter in Bleach were needed and awesome) but come on, there is a time and place for that. It's too light and too serious and blugwugh.

The lack of reactions and follow-through on important developments is something that nags at me too. It's been happening for awhile now--the 14th had an epic awakening during the battle in the orphanage, and Kanda, at least, witnessed it, but in the next chapter it's been completely dropped. I don't know if Link saw it clearly or not, but he sure as hell saw Allen injure himself with his own sword, so surely among all the characters on the scene someone MUST have brought it up later with the Order/Central. It was a huge development that got dropped right away. Maybe we'll get something after this chapter, but the Exorcists and Order members' lack of reaction to Allen's Noahfication makes it seem anticlimactic.

Then there are the times we see the characters reacting, but there's no follow-through. We got a nice "shock" face from Allen when he learned about the Third Exorcists (and a bonus one from Link), but soon enough his reaction is telling Lou Fa that everything will be all right. Link may be the kind to stay quiet and follow orders, but what happened to Allen's stubborn following of principles? Wouldn't learning that those kind of experiments are still going on make him, you know, kind of angry?

Stories are more interesting when there's conflict, not when it's removed.

Sorry for the tl;dr. XD You made some good points. I agree that Hoshino erred too far on the side of humor, as well.

Speaking of lack of reactions, why did Rhode barely seem to notice Allen? Shouldn't she be smooching him or stabbing him in the eye or something?

...And despite all this, I still enjoyed the chapter. Mmmmm, Crows.

and i don't know 'bout anyone else, but i'm beginning to not be able to tell some of the characters apart, or tell who they are.

Considering my main fandoms, I an entirely used to RUSHED STORYLINE RUSH RUSH RUSH, but I think that the "Allen Goes Noah" could have DEFINITELY been stressed a little more. At least between the characters.

I mean, I was going "HOLY FRICK WHAT THE HELL!" when it happened and then...nothing.

I was at least expected Exorcist-Hitler (whatever his name is) to go all "I KNEW IT! LETS KILL ALLEN WALKER!" or something like that. :/

And as for the ending of this chapter: Dear God, WTF? I don't get it anymore.

I agree with many things that previous commenters have pointed out.

The not-successful and rather tasteless mix of dark+funny throws me off at every turn. And the lack of reactions and follow-through cheapen the revelations of latest chapters, and defeat the purpose of bringing into light things like:

1. OMG did Allen just turn Noah in front of Levellier (sp?) and so many other people? And we didn't get to see their shocked faces for more than 1 second?

2. OMG did Allen just said the 14th's dream is to actually become the Earl? And do what? Reign over the Noahs and continue with this Akuma war, or turn the war into a different direction?

3. OMG did Kanda just try to fool himself into not recognizing Alma and not accepting at face value that the Order lied to him and used both him and Alma like recycle bins?

4. OMG Allen took a dive into Kanda's memories and is going to witness his past?

5. OMG did they draw Link really handsome this chapter, or is it me allucinating?

...I was reading this and having a nervous breakdown with all these OMGs, shuddering and headdesking all over the place. But then the chapter itself told the whole story so calmly...that it almost killed my excited mood.

*sighs* Now I want to be optimistic (again) and wait for the next chapter. Hope it gets darker soon, as it should be!

I'm write tempted to write a fic with the recent events from Kanda's POV, but I lack writting skills, so is better left in my head D: I won't like it halway through it anyway :/
