Jump Festa 2010

I went to Jump Festa 2010 that was held in Makuhari Messe (Chiba prefecture, Japan) yesterday and today. Though I mainly went for the game booths, I did take a quick stroll through a few Jump booths too. For those who don't know what Jump Festa is, it is basically a manga event hold by Shueisha, the publisher of Shounen Jump (and related magazines, such as Akamaru Jump, V-Jump and Square Jump). The event also invites game makers to showcase their latest and upcoming games.

Since D.Gray-man doesn't serialise in Shounen Jump anymore, there was actually little appearance of it in Jump Festa. It did show up at several places:

Jump Original Art World
- This is where original art is displayed. No photos were allowed inside. I actually didn't find the D.Gray one on page five in the gallery. I did find an original art by Hoshino, drawn on signiture board with her signiture on the art. It's Kanda (face, cut off at shoulder) holding Mugen with Chibi Allen hanging on the hilt.

1/4 D.Gray-man bag from Aniplex
- If you look very closely, you'll find Allen and Timcanpy on the right bottom corner of page 12. Apparantly, if you purchase 4000yen worth or more of Aniplex products, you'll get a huge paper bag with Naruto, Bleach, D.Gray and Gintama design on it. It's not a very practical bag since it is really big. A few years ago at another event, bags like those were given out for free ~_~

High Quality Replica of Original Art
- A really expensive piece of colour copy of the original art.

Original Goods Zone section
- This is where Shuesha sells character goods that it makes and is not available anywhere else other than Jump Festa and Jump stores. Some goods were only available at Jump Festa, though none of the D.Gray-man goods were JF exclusive this year. As you can see, there is one clear file available. The page shows the back and front of the file. I actually went to line up for over an hour just to get it (don't ask me why; since I can probably find it in the Tokyo Jump Store anyway, I still lined up for it). End up only getting the D.Gray file for myself and a One Piece file for my brother ^_^;;

The file:

Is anyone interested in buying the clear file?
Since I will still be in Tokyo for a week or so before heading back to Nagoya, I will go to the Jump Shop some time. If there are more copies of the clear file (the one above), I can get a few and send them to those of you overseas and are interested in it. The file cost 300yen including tax. If I'm doing the favour of sending, I'll be charging some profit (for me answering requests, finding envelopes to fit the file, writing address, etc).

300yen is a little more than US$3 right now, would anyone be interested if say, I make it 900yen (not including postage)? If you're interested, leave a comment in this post or PM me ^_^ I am not sure if the file is available at the Jump Shop yet, just want to see if anyone is interested first. Of course, I'll let those of you interested know if they're available or not once I've checked it out.

I can't imagine postage would be very expensive since the file is so light and there are a number of postage methods available at Japan Post.

The file fits A4 size paper. It has one slot. Some other files (not D.Gray-man) I have seen have multiple slots but this one only has one. It's made of plastic. It comes in a thin clear plastic packaging (that most of us would throw away when we take the file out and becomes rubbish).

The cover of the Jump Festa 2010 guide. Allen got in it (and is not very small either), yay!

Was there any sign of a D.Gray-man original drama CD for this year (last 2 years been one)?

Thanks so much for sharing your experience at Jump Festa. ^__^

Hm. I might be interested in the file. I wonder if you might have a small discount for multiples?

That's fine. Thank you for looking, though! :)

Might be a strange question but would you be willing to get the Bleach clear file - number 8 - please? Let me know. Thanks

Thanks for sharing the pictures! And I noticed that on the cover of the guidebook, Allen's hair is coloured slightly yellowish/gold.... Hmm, but that's probably because they were playing with the colours again, I guess...

Haha, it's too bad we don't get to see a lot of young!Allen with brown hair! I really want to see him like that with his Kanda-like attitude before he met Mana. :D
