Cosplay, anyone?

I'm currently making a set of v3 uniforms for Fanime (Memorial Day weekend), but I can't seem to find anywhere to buy the patches. I'm looking to have some made, but the setup fees on embroidered patches are RIDICULOUS...so I was hoping someone else might be in a similar predicament? The more patches I order, the cheaper each patch becomes, since the expensive part is the setup.

Anyone interested? I am ordering at least three myself, and I think if we can make at least 30 the cost should be well less than $10. Also, does anyone know a company they for-sure trust to make these kinds of patches? The one I am planning to use is down the street from me, so I can look at their work in person before paying to make sure it is to par, but if someone has one they already like...O_O~

I'm making a v3 uniform for Fanime as well but already have a patch (taking it off a cheaply made v3 uniform). But if you need help, I can go in with you for 2 more since I might be making an overcoat as well.

Here's what I did for mine:

1) Bought a DGM Cross necklace at a con.
2) Broke off the little loop at the top of the cross
3) Drew a shield around it
4) Cut the shield out of balsa wood, and made the borders out of thin strips of balsa wood
5) Wood-glued it together
6) Painted it with acrylics
7) Glued the cross on with superglue
8) Superglued two tie-tacks to the back

Wooooooow~ It looks gorgeous! But the reason I never bought one of those metal crosses for my v1 (well, v2, but Miranda, so v1 for me?) is because there's a darn good reason I cosplay whom I cosplay. I am an utter klutz and all my costumes get rolled around in/fallen on/etc. quite a bit. I think I would snap the balsa wood and get impaled on the cross. ^_^;;; But thank you so much~! I really looks amazing.

I will have to check it out. I am a huge fan of embroidery for these, though. I'm rather picky. ^_^; Thank you, though! I will definitely look at it. Just as soon as I get around to joining cosplay.com I suppose. I hope registration doesn't take long? ^_^;

Slowly. :( I actually can sew well but I'm a HUGE procrastinator when it comes to cutting out fabric. Plus my work is so busy it's hard to carve out time. I've cut out the uniform but not the lining or trim. I'll probably finish cutting over the weekend and then start sewing. I have a business trip coming up but even with that, I think I'll have time to finish. I hope. :P

What about you? You're doing 3 uniforms?! Yikes!

I have a patch which I never used =/ But I only have one. I could buy 2 more and send over to you if you want but they include the chain thingys across the neck. I can dig up reference images =D

Haha, nah, not this time around! Just two, although I think with a few small tweaks I can make Kanda turn into Miranda (now wouldn't THAT be a fanfic). Mostly it's the combination of this and other sets - two Birth By Sleep costumes and have to finish HTTYD and pray to goodness my Rabi doesn't figure out what she wants made for the ball on Sunday 'cuz I don't want to make it! Heh~ This is perhaps why nothing turns out as well as I want it to. I'm looking forward to seeing yours. I'll try not to be too jealous!

I hear you on time. Uggggh, work. I've made the basic coats and the lining but the two aren't attached yet and then there's all the trim and things to think of. Not to mention the clothes for underneath. -_-;

Only downside is you have to hot-glue/UHU glue all the knots so that they won't fall apart. (Mine fell apart. In the toilet. ABOVE THE SINK!!! Goodbye to some beads ;A; )

and the patch is here. It's an iron-on patch. And yes THE BADGE IS METAL >8D

Both chains and patch cost SGD25. But my patch, I can charge you cheaper (since I don't have the chain and it broke T^T so you have to synthesize your own chains) but if you wanna get 2 more they will include chains =3
