It was dark down here, but he didn't seem to mind it all that much. Something much more irritating was that voice, and he hated the way it grated in his ears. As much as he tried to drown it out by all methods possible, it simply didn't work. So he was forced into a state where he was never truly resting, but he was never truly awake, either.
When that light came in, both the opener of the door and the inhabitant of the room were startled. "Allen!" She gasped, nearly dropping the tray of food she had in her surprise. "Oh God, you haven't eaten or anything in a week, have you? I knew I shouldn't have listened to them."
He blinked through bleary blue-gray eyes. "Lenalee?" A small smile broke on his lips as she placed the tray in front of him, her dark eyes filled with concern. "It's alright. I'd known it was going to happen." He pressed a hand to his heart, which pounded slowly amongst the cool, damp air. The open window let the autumn's night breeze filter in, and during the daytime, it might be pleasant, but at night, it was quite intolerable, and Lenalee wanted nothing more than to rip the head off the man who'd placed Allen down here, but she knew there was nothing she could do but bite her lip. "It's cold in here. Blanket?" He offered her the one he had placed around his shoulders, but she held up a hand. He continued to coax her, and she finally relented, but only under the premise that they share it. It would be warmer that way anyhow, within this concrete confinement.
There was nothing said between them as she quietly leaned her head on his shoulder. She felt his muscles tense every time his left arm went down and up to bring the food to his mouth, eating much more quietly than she remembered, but it was probably because he didn't feel particularly well, and when he was in a foul mood, he was prone to eat like this. Within this room, where only a dim candle lit the place, aside from the moon's pale light, she could see the very plants outside this building trying to control not only the outside, but also the indoors.
She went back to staring at Allen. His earrings glinted amongst the dim lighting, and the bags around his eyes accentuated his sharp, English features. His white hair seemed almost ethereal here, and she could not resist her urge to run her fingers through it while he ate. In the middle of chewing, he turned to her, and a soft, sad smile graced his pale features.
"I'm sorry this had to happen to you," Lenalee murmured, unable to take her eyes off of him. "You're a far better person than they give you credit for."
He shook his head, that same smile staying there on his marked face, but he had finished eating, and leaned his head on her shoulder this time. "I'll be okay." She felt as though his soul had broken, even though he said such things. They both felt the heavy weight of Kanda's death, and the death of the hundreds of others they'd both known. Even now, in this damp, cold room, the two of them were grateful for the others' presence, because it reminded both of them that they were alive. "The crown I bear is heavy," And as the words left his lips, she felt the literal and figurative meaning ring in her mind. "Some people just refuse to understand." In the shadows, it almost seemed as though the ivy was listening, creeping into the room and joining them. Lenalee forced herself not to turn around look at it, but her tension made the albino look behind them and stare. He lifted one of his thin arms. "See? It's like that ivy," Lenalee stared at those blue-gray eyes, so full of sorrow and fighting spirit. It was as though she could see his very internal struggle taking place within them. "It's beautiful when you first see it--green, lively, active. Then one discovers that it was only meant to choke. But that choking was never intended harm anyone. It only wanted to grow and continue to be told that it was beautiful." His eyes glassed over, and she could see him trying to tell the noah inside him to stay back, if only for one second longer. "They only wanted...to be told they were beautiful. Never to choke a loved one. Never."
Lenalee forced herself not to cry only through years and years of difficult situations. She held him close, and simply let Allen laugh quietly to himself a while longer, the king with an ivy crown. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," She whispered, and those tears escaped against her will on his shirt. Her lips met his arm as she whispered, and he was noticeably taken aback. A broken laugh left his lips this time, and he whispered in response, "It is, isn't it," And the two of them laughed until Link came by to take Lenalee back to headquarters.
She stood slowly, her hand still connected to Allen's. With a bitter smile, she let it fall softly, and she whispered, "Stay safe," before going back to the blonde man and then letting the heavy door close behind her. In the silence, Allen leaned back and glanced at the ivy, turning into dark tendrils in his hallucinating eyes. Chuckling darkly, he whispered her words to himself again. "In the eye of the beholder, hm?"
He curled himself up in the blanket, which still retained a little of her warmth. He breathed deep and slow, trying to remember everything all over again, for who knew when he would see her next.

Some editing I would like to do though, in the phrase, "and Lenalee wanted nothing more than to rip the man who'd placed Allen down here's head off"
It would be better if it was changed to "and Lenalee wanted nothing more than to rip the head off the man who'd placed Allen down here." I think it would read more smoothly that way.
