New Opening, anyone know?

I was counting off the usual pattern of when the new openings appear in the show, and from what it looks we might be getting another new one soon. [The interval is about 25-26 episodes, we're on like the 23rd episode for this one.] And though this is just a theory, I think it might be something similar to the second opening "Brightdown". Considering the fact that the first opening "Innocent Sorrow" and "Gekidou" are similar in their tone and style, it's just a hunch of what we might have to look forward to.

So what are your theories? Do you have a band/singer that you hope will do it? Or better yet more credible information?

I'm kind of worried D.Gray is going to go into filler after the Level 4 stuff, so I'm hoping it's not like a filler opening D:

I'll miss you, Gekidou ;___;

According to this post (http://community.livejournal.com/exorcists_order/134625.html#cutid4) (and others) over at [livejournal.com profile] exorcists_order, the anime is going to be ending this season, with the end of the Level 4 arc.

Kind of glad with to hear that, now we're not going to get fillers.

That'd be the last thing we want....I can't believe it'd be on hiatus!!

Good point!! Sorry i can't give you any official info, but these are my theories...

According to the actual we will need another with new images for the next episodes after the (it should be during this) Level 4 arc.

But i read ('till now three times) that the anime will stop after that arc, and i couldn't confirm it.

So, considering that the anime is so near to the manga, if the series don't stop that means we'll have another opening with new stories in the anime (not shown in the manga). And according to that, we'll have something similar to the second opening "Brightdown" but 'cause of that reason i expose.

I've heard that there will only be 103 episodes of DGM this season, so most likely with only 3-4 episodes to go, there won't be a new opening.

If there would be one though, I'd wish fooor... well I dunno. Would be kinda cool with a girl singing in the OP.

Total anime episodes airing is 103, according to:
http://cal.syoboi.jp/tid/991
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.Gray-man
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6764

No, I don't read Japanese, but I'm sure others do.

Plus, the anime got low rating compared to the manga, hence a reason why they would end the anime. I hope not though!

Last ending started at 90, so it's been on for 10 episodes this week.
The previous ending went from 77-89. 77 is where this opening started. I usually go by this scale, that it's about the length of 2 endings. The first one was 12 episodes, so the new opening could start in a week or two, though it's not an exact science.

And I doubt the anime is ending. They said it was ending before at like 52, and it didn't.

From what I've read on many websites, the anime is going to end at 103 episodes.
Still I doubt it, its popularity didn't score that low and most of the time authors and companies establish a definite number of episodes for every situation. I think that the fillers' hypothesis is more quoted, even if I don't know how good it would be considering that fillers are usually bad and ignored by the main audience.

I'd love an opening from Nightmare but they're too easily associated with Death Note to give it a try xD

I associate Nightmare with Claymore. Their OP for THAT series was above average.

I think they're trying to decide now whether to bring the anime back after the manga has gotten a little further ahead. You may have noticed that at the end of the most recent episodes, instead of a preview for the next ep we've gotten a commercial for a DGM video game contest. Viewers of the show are asked to send in a postcard with their name and address, and their opinion of the show. Now, that sounds to me like they're collecting feedback. If they get enough positive responses, that may influence them to bring the anime back in the spring.

If the anime has, indeed, lost viewers, I think it's because of the Lulubelle fillers. Those were so bad that they drove a lot of people away and they never came back.

[identity profile] yezhanquan85.livejournal.com 2008-09-13 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I actually thought that the "travel" arc helped fleshed out Lulubell, and it at least made sense. One chapter, they're in Europe. The next, they're in China. Hello?

[identity profile] subaru-san.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
So what if they quickly went from Europe to China? They're not that far from each other, for one thing, and time skips happen all the time. It would take them, what, maybe a week at most to get from England to China? Hardly a huge time skip.

I was really hoping they'd just ignore the filler arc in the Level 4 arc, but sadly, no such luck. Other series have had fillers that were used as just that, simple fillers and nothing more. And thereafter were ignored in future arcs as having simply been a way to pass time while making money. Instead, in D.Gray-Man, we get an episode less interesting than it could have been had it lived up to the manga's potential, and all because of some stupid filler arc. Said filler arc was, btw, a waste of rather precious Exorcist time, so it doesn't even make sense in the timeline of D.Gray-Man.

Overall, that filler arc was a waste that almost completely ruined two episodes I'd been looking forward to. I've already found them less enjoyable than I would have if they had stuck with the manga plot, and I find that very unfortunate, especially since it could have been prevented.

I heard that the anime was going on hiatus until the spring. :\

[identity profile] lacus-yamato.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
I am not sure, I have this feeling that they are sooo... going to take an experienced artist that had been with an anime OP/ED before, Plus, it'd have to be an awesome opening when the new season comes in...I am guessing, L'arc-en-ciel? That'd be awesome, considering all of the OP had been rock all the way!

[identity profile] lacus-yamato.livejournal.com 2008-09-10 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
wow....indeed it WILL be..!!
