So, despite what you may have heard, D.Gray-man chapter 179 is scanlated and up on Onemanga. I don't know why it apparently did not come out in SJ, but it's on the net for those who cannot wait another goddamn second after three months of deprivation want to read it.

What to you think of Timothy's Innocence? On a scale of 1-100 how awesome does Second look? How useful will turning akuma into Innocence be, and how will it impact the war? Will he end up saving the rest of the exorcists, and maybe taking over the LVL 4?

Second gave me very strange Amatsuki vibes [Gods knows WHY], while my brain is still busy trying to catch up the the UTTER CONFUSION.

I don't know, he made me think of the Medicine Seller from Mononoke, personally, with the way he only tells Timothy AFTER he's shouted out that he can only be seen by him. :DDD Though he does give off that Amatsuki sense as well.

Aww don't worry. Long story short, innocence activated, which we all saw coming, and through some super awesome Innocence powers Tim changed the akuma into an innocence compatible thingy. I can only imagine how that looks to Allen's eye. Anyway, Timothy's innocence comes in two parts, the other one being called 'Second' (and looking really cool) and only being seen by Tim. Second's like 'lol I'll tell you how to fight these things' and Tim's like 'mmkay' and that's when it ends.

I find it fascinating how much of Timothy parallels Allen. His circumstances are similar (abandoned and has a visible deformity caused by Innocence), has the same attitude as Allen in his childhood (brat on the outside, but a sweetheart on the inside) and a highly unorthodox Parasitic Innocence. He even has a voice in his head, although his is his Innocence, while Allen's is the Fourteenth.

I hope Hoshino keeps him around just to explore their similarities and make Allen grow because of them.

ETA: Before I forget. It's kind of adorable how much Divine Possession looks like Vivi from Final Fantasy IX... xD

They cannot kill Timmy off. He's my new fave. Well, okay, technically Second is, but he is Timmy, in a way. And I hadn't really thought about that, though I can picture those two agonizing together about voices that won't shut the hell up in their heads. "ARGH SHUT THE HELL UP DAMNIT!" Don't get me wrong, I'm totally psyched that D. Gray is back. ^_^ But was anyone else expecting something more for the first week back in how many months? I thought we might get more pages, or something in color, or a "Thanks for being patient, ya'll"...

One thing I'm always struck by is how interesting Hoshino-sensei's art is to look at, outside of the story. Recently, I've enjoyed the way she chooses to use shadow and light in new ways.

And then there are the nifty character quirks she encorporates. "Second" chewing up the Akuma and swallowing it was just priceless as was Emilia's cradling of Doll!Link. Subtle, but very nice. And I have to wonder if she's fascinated by clowns or terrified by them. There seems to be a running theme, particularly with the shape of Timothy's innocence.

Happy fangirls all over I suppose. :D Though moar pages would have been nice. Hoshino-sama's art has always been facinating, and it's been cool to watch it develop. If you go back to the beginning and look at Allen you can see how young he looks. The style matures with him, which adds to the affect. :D

In my Opinion:

Timothy: Still sucks.
Timothy's Innocence: Really annoying and generic.
Scale 1-100: 18.
How useful: Too useful. GARRRRRY STUUUUU ALERT~~~~!
Saving the rest of the Exorcists and Lvl 4: Probably, unfortunately.
What would be TOTALLY awesome: If Timothy turned into an akuma and killed himself to save everyone. That'd be rad.

Tsukikami why is everyone calling him Second? is pretty hot (even if he did borrow his physical appearance from his host), and the idea of Innocence actually having a conscience that can talk to you is quite interesting (and makes me wonder whether something like that is lurking inside anybody else's weapons). That aside though, Timothy is such an annoying brat, I just can't bring myself to like him :( We've spent way too long away from the established characters for my taste; I hope this plot arc wraps up soon so we can get back to people I care about. Also... I'm really worried about Link D:

Lenalee and Allen's Innocence have shown signs of sentience. Crown Clown protected Fou and Bak by itself for a while until Allen called it back. Dark Boots when it liquified, seemed to become this weird little headless angel thing for a moment before turning into the anklets. So yeah, sentience. But as you said, no talking yet.

Aww, I like Timothy, but I agree that we're spending a lot of time away from Allen and co. Moar Kanda plz.

I doubt very much that he's the heart. He would have been put in a lot earlier if he was. My personal theory is Allen's the heart because Bak said that there was a piece of Innocence lodged in his organic heart and that's what kept him alive after Tyki almost killed him.

... This chapter made me rather like Timothy, actually. :D; His possession transformation form thing is adorable~ And Tsukikami is pretty awesome, he reminds me of Ling from FMA for some reason. XD;

Also this chapter made me remember how much I love Hoshino's art. ♥ Though it seemed a little... off in this chapter. Like the proportions were a little weird. That's probably because she's been out of practice for so long, though.

Was I the only one that was a little nervous about reading the manga? Like seeing someone you were best friends with but haven't seen in a long time and are worried the whole thing will be awkward and you won't have anything in common anymore? Luckily it was all good. It's the little things, like Timcanpy freaking out and the akuma shaking the hurt off his hand when he punched akuma!Tim. With Tim taking over that akuma it looks like a Final Fantasy monster, also....iut has little flame decals on his feeties! That cracks me up.

..PFHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAAAA XD Lol...hmm....well, I don't like how he looks all that much but he's definitely more interesting than Timothy himself...But how can an innocence take human form??

Anyway, I don't care about Timothy. I was hoping to see more Allen or Yuu..or even anyone else from the order (I don't like new characters...and Timothy in particular I really dislike him). Timothy somewhat reminds me of a filler character, you know, like characters that only appear in anime filler episodes.

Still, I'm very very very super happy. I really missed DGM!!! And somehow, regardless of the fact that the chapter was mostly about Timothy, I still liked it very much 'cause I adore Hoshino's style <3

I didn't dislike Timothy, but I wasn't overly fond of him either. But this chapter made me fall in love with him. I think he's an adorable brat who needs love, and I love the form of his Innocence (both forms!).

As for sentience, Divine Possession did say he would explain why Timothy was the only one who could see or hear him, and I think the fact Timothy can will definitely be investigated by the Order, which may lead to the others finding ways to communicate with their Innocence. After Allen and Linali's showed they also had sentience, I think it's possible they could communicate with them. I also think Suman turning into a Fallen One was another sign of sentience, since they said he had betrayed his Innocence and it was punishing him because of it. And it should definitely be noted Suman was also a parasitic type, and the other Fallen Ones were created by putting Innocence inside non-compatible bodies. Maybe equipment Innocence is just "getting to know" its user before deciding to form a bond like Linali's did.

However! Timothy could choose not to tell anyone else he can see and talk to his Innocence, or his Innocence may ask him not to tell. Which would suck.

And I think (this is getting long >.<) that maybe the reason Timothy can communicate with Divine Possession is due to the nature of the Innocence itself. Timothy can leave his body and enter another's, so I figure he could probably see things while in that state that others couldn't see. Maybe. That's probably a stretch. lol But if that were the case, would everything I've already said be impossible?

All of those ideas seem pretty plausible to me. I've always thought Innocence was sentient ever since the whole Suman incident, and it was reinforced with Crowned Clown's activation. They certainly have different characteristics, if you look. Crowned Clown can be quite cruel and frightening; Hoshino made it's mask tilt up to make it look almost like it was smiling while it was attacking the Akuma when it activated fully for the first time. Miranda's clock just wanted to make it's master happy (even if very little can do so), and Lenalee's boots showed it's respect by bowing to her before becoming the anklets. Look back, it's in there.

I don't want Timothy to be investigated by the order. D: because that means Levellier and he's creepy. Like, I have nightmares about him. Srsly. I hope he does stay quiet about it apart from to Allen and co. since they'll keep a secret.

I wonder if Tim can see akuma souls? Probably not, concidering there was no reaction when he was possessing them. I wonder what Allen sees? Is the soul purified? Gone? At peace? Does the akuma explode after Tim leaves it?

Second appears to be sentinent, but this implies that the other innocences are sentinent too, which is something that would have to be incoporated into the rest of the manga.

Really...I think that this chapter was disappointing. I don't like Second at all.

I'm just glad to see the manga back, though I'll be very, very glad when this storyline wraps and we can get back to the original characters who drew us into the manga in the first place. I don't think we've seen Lavi since around September, we haven't seen Lenalee in action since the Level Four fight and Hoshino promised us Kanda's backstory, dammit!

Timothy's Innocence really isn't that much different from Klaud's Lau, when you think about it – it's a parasitic creature made of Innocence, the main difference being that one is in the form of an animal and the other in the form of a member of Organization XIII. ~_^

Timothy's innocence is unique and interesting and I'm waiting to see what happens next. I've read somewhere else that Divine Possession human form is eligible to join the male harem of DGM. And he probably won't be strong enough to save the rest, let alone take down a level 4

I know, I know, wishful thinking. He'll probably try though. Maybe Kanda's a more likely option. I've been thinking, and maybe this encounter is an oppertunity for Kanda's Innocence to evolve like Lenalee's did. Near death experiences tend to do that. And I think he's already maxed out his Innocence before in the battle with Skin. ...
