Allen's power and how he uses it (and not use it)
I have too much time on my hands and am thinking about the D.Gray plot matters once again.
Not sure if this has been brought up previously. If it has, please pardon me.
We know that Allen inherited the 14th Noah's power to manipulate the white Ark using the piano. It puzzles me slightly as to how he actually use his power, or rather, choose not to use his power.
Question: Malcolm C Lvellie states very clearly that he intends to use the white Ark as a weapon against the Earl. While his motives and intentions are logical, I wonder on the other hand, if Allen's is too?
Let's gather some more facts together: Allen is the "sousha" (Player, Performer, Musician, whatever is to your liking). He commands the white Ark. From Cross, he finds out that one day, the 14th inside him will wake up and make him kill someone he holds dear. Lvellie is breathing down his neck, watching his every single move via Link.
I wonder if it is necessary for Allen to listen to Lvellie's orders. He is not a threat to Allen at all. Allen can very well rebel against the entire Black Order any moment he wishes. Sure, Link is watching him 24/7, but if Allen really wants to, he can open up a gate and slip away into the Ark when Link is distracted.
Most likely, Allen does not want to leave the Black Order, his friends, his "family". However, I believe that if he decides to leave, many in the Order will actually follow him. Bookman and Lavi will follow because they need to for recording. Heck if I was Bookman, Allen's happenings seems more important than the Order's. Lenalee and Krory will also follow suit. Not entirely sure about Miranda and Kanda. In any case, Allen will not be alone.
The reason why I think it is logical for Allen to leave is the fact that he may end up killing someone he cares for. Well, he believes he can stop the 14th, that may be why he is staying at the Order. Though, if his friends follow him, it will defeat the purpose of him leaving.
Other reason for Allen's loyalty is perhaps he wants to defeat the Noah clan and the Earl with the Order. That would make more sense.
If Allen really leaves, what can the Central do? Most of all they can dispatch Karasu. But if Allen stays inside his Ark, what can they do? Nothing, really. If they are able to enter it, they would have done so already. Not like he will, but if Allen really wants to, he can easily kill all Karasu members using the Ark's teleportation technology.
It is a matter of "whether Allen wants to" and not "whether Allen can".
Why hasn't Allen turned against the Order yet? Because he hasn't thought about it? Because he doesn't want to?
Gomen...another very long post. You're more patient than I to read until here.
