Changing Artstyle

Hi everyone! I don't usually post here, just kinda stalk and comment lol.

But I wanted to bring up the latest GORGEOUS new chapter that came out recently!

Or so everyone says.

Don't get me wrong at all, I LOVE the art of D. Gray-man.

It's just that I was thinking I miss the old style,

Same Allen, same mangaka, totally different.

I'm not complaining, but I was wondering if people had thoughts. As for me, I think the newer style is much sharper, more bloodier, and my friend says it's much "cooler". I believe that Hoshino Katsura's style is still developing, that is why her art changes. We see that happened to many mangaka. Once they're set on a style, they are likely to stick with it. Right now, it is still evolving.

Allen's appearance changed more than four times from the start of the series. If we compare nitty gritty things like his hair style, the shape of his eye, we notice the differences. It is not a bad thing. I love the art lots, just like many others. In occasional chapters, some details are lost and that's when I dislike it. Detail is a major feature in Hoshino's style, she draws more descriptively than any other mangaka I know (except one, perhaps).

I do miss the old style too. Right now, I'm enjoying what we're getting ^_^

It's a fact as well :) The recent chapters (those released after Hoshino's break) are amazing.
