It may just be me but remember when General Cross told Allen that he had to kill someone he loved when he turned into the 14th? What if that night, Allen had been temporarily taken over and attempted to kill Cross? I know it's a long shot since he's supposed to be asleep with Lenalee and Johnny during that time but the 14th could've easily slipped out during that time. Or it was one of those freaky half akuma people.

I'm now pretty sure I'm just going crazy from all these new revelations. And from Lavi-withdrawls.

I was actually thinking that same thing, when those chapters came out simultaniously. IT COULD HAPPEN. And immediately after the "you're gonna kill somebody you love" part, Cross DIES?!!! I have not ruled out this possibility yet and I'm glad I'm not alone.

(P.S. Ffffffff!!! *flail* LAVI WAS IN THIS LAST CHAPTER!!! Just barely....BUT HE WAS THERE!!!)

I thought Cross shot himself to fake death and/or to frame it as an "inside job" and then escaped... maybe I'll go back and reread those chapters... x_x;

I don't think it's the half akuma crows that did it, since during that time the fragment of the akuma egg is probably still in research by Renee Epstein.
Besides, Lvellie (did I spell it right?) said that it was "the work of Central", didn't he? After saying that he said that he would be returning to Central and investigate Cross' case.
But if 14th really did it, it's not that bad. It's a great twist to the story! :D

I saw what Cross said to Allen as more of a test of his/the 14th's objectives, and more for the point of the Secretary and general Central's hearing, rather than anything else.

From what seems to be going on, I think it might be a matter of a third party involved even, or something... after all, Bookman is worried that somebody else is out there and warning Lavi to be careful after learning of this new information too. So maybe there's someone else out there that would benefit from the Noah waking up, apart from the Earl and the rest.

I don't think Cross is actually dead either, he still has his Maria innocence and the fact there's yet to be a body... I hope so anyway! *shares in the lavi-withdrawls*
