From brown to White?

HI im a first time poster here!

but i was wondering if this was discussed yet its a old topic but i've wondering this for awhile now..
but before when allen was a kid (taken in by Mana)
He had brown hair O_O
if u go back in the anime episode 7 i believe he has brown hair
but now its pure white?
like did his curse do that? or like what happened
hahah and anyone know his height?
i saw that rinali was 166cm and he is taller then so i was guessing
like 170 ish???


....along with ..anyone know any good tutorials on how to color manga
ive been wanting to learn forever D:

Im planning to go as allen in he's 3rd uniform thats why i asked about this height bc i believe i should be
tall enough without heels or platforms haha

Allen has brown hair naturally, but due to the trauma that making his adoptive father an akuma and being cursed by him brought, his hair paled and is now "naturally" white. And he's 169 cm tall, as can be read about in the fanbook info (a translation can be found here (http://hot4history.livejournal.com/14293.html).

I don't have any tutorials for how to colour manga specifically, I don't know if there are any.

As for cosplay, me and my group have cosplayed a good number of the characters from D.Gray-man in the past, but maybe you were wondering about a specific event? ^^

Yeah, I noticed that Allen did have brown hair before he was cursed. My guess is that the shock was too great that his hair turned white (like Enishi Yukishiro from Rurouni Kenshin). Or maybe a side effect from the curse.

By the way, do you know whether Allen had brown eyes too, or his eye color had always been silver?

There are lots of manga colouring tutorials out there, usually you can find them on icon comms/journals. Everyone has a different style though so I think it's best to check if your favourite icon comms have any because you'd already be used to/like that style.

Here are two I've tried:

This is one is pretty simple and straightforward and good for beginners.

2. herinia (http://community.livejournal.com/crysella/6669.html)
This is one is more complex and good for colouring whole page manga scans, the author is a super talented colourist. If you'd like to see an amazing example of her colouring, check this (http://community.livejournal.com/crysella/8052.html) out.

I can't remember which volume that FAQ belonged to, but Hoshino mentioned that she only decided on Allen's eyes being gray quite some time after the series started, which was why Allen's eyes will appear blue in some coloured pages (or it's the lighting).

Is the height really that important? I cosplay Lavi even though I am in fact shorter than Lenalee, but together with my group, I've always had crazy amounts of fun anyway. Just go with the flow and cosplay who you feel like cosplaying, I say ^^

I made a query about this very thing a while back XD

It was decided (through manga evidence) that his hair turned white from the shock, Not sure about his eyes though. I think they're gold when he's Noah.
