Share your favourite DGM fics to help pass the hiatus! *yay*

It's been days since the announcement of the recent hiatus but I'm still feeling rather glum about it. I don't think I'm the only one either.

The only solution I can think of to alleviate this is: Fanfics!

There's only one DGM fanfic I'm reading currently (unless the author updates her other fics) and owe tons of yet-unwritten reviews to: Any Way You Want It by Novelist Pup

I'll admit that I'm a prude who's not usually fond of pairings, yaoi, drugs, slang or the 80's but I loved it all for this fic! Just about every character in it is lovable and they're all rather in character, even the ones you usually hate. If you love character interaction then you'd probably love the writing style too. What makes it even better? It's still ongoing! Seeing it update during these DGM-deprived weeks is like an extra godly god-send (because it's already a god-send in itself)


And now it's your turn. What other amazing fics do you know of that can save the sanity of your fellow fans? And don't just tell it, sell it!

Edit: Also, does anyone have tips for writing about stuff they don't actually know about? I'm trying to write a fic of my own: D.Gray-man in a Phoenix Wright kind of setting. Except I'm having trouble trying to figure out stuff like how lawyers work and other real-world issues I generally don't bother with and researching it all is killing my motivation.

As for an idea, how about someone like >insert name< (doesn't really matter who, though Lavi or Link would be good I think for a number of reasons) is doing a case where they are trying to defend Allen for killing his step-dad Mana and prove his innocence enough to keep him from jail?

sand castle by metisket is my absolute favorite dgm fanfic I have ever read so far. Cross and Allen are wonderful and the story following those two for their years together before Allen becomes an exorcist is truly grand. I highly reccomend it, even if you've read it read it again. XD

Bookman by Dhampir72 is also another pretty good fic to reccomend for now. It has great atmosphere and the characterization of Lavi and Bookman is wonderful. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3615690/1/

And OMG, I loved those Cross and Allen fics! I'm still having fun rereading them too.

I found some discrepancies in the first chapter -like how Lavi was already 'Lavi' when it was supposed to be his 49th name- which irked me, but I haven't really gotten deep enough into the story yet, so I'll persevere.
