A goldfish.
It doesn't make noise. It doesn't want to cuddle. It doesn't want Kanda to scratch it behind the ears and he only has to feed it once in a while... only that he doesn't.
Lenalee, Lavi or Allen do it for him because they are not able to let the poor animal die of starvation.
