Actually, a lot of magazines do that. (Reader's Digest does, for example.)

From Wiki: "In the USA the standard practice is to display on magazine covers a date which is some weeks or months in the future from the actual publishing/release date. The reason for this apparent discrepancy is to inform newsstands when an unsold magazine can be removed from the stands and returned to the publisher or be destroyed. Weeklies (such as Time (magazine) and Newsweek) are generally dated a week ahead. Monthlies (such as National Geographic Magazine) are generally dated a month ahead, and quarterlies are generally dated three months ahead."

Claymore has the same "next chapter coming in the April issue" note in the end of its chapters, while Letter Bee and Ultimo have an even more ambiguous "to be continued". But they're the only SQ series that get regular scanlations, so I couldn't check the rest.

I never cease to be completely blown away by Hoshino's storytelling. That was just beautifully heartbreaking!

It also makes me consider Maria for a moment. What if Cross magically bound her in that coffin because he didn't want her to be "used" for the Second Apostle project??? Oh, the wheels in my head, they are a-turnin'!

Yeah I also think that the core memories have to do with dead apostles , and maybe the lady is kanda's previous memories or something like that. Wow the sword that kanda was holding at the beggining was pretty cool looking (but I don't think that's his usual sword, unless that is another power up that his sword has). I feel sorry for both Alma and Kanda

I figured the sword is Mugen in its unrefined state, since Innocence on its own tends to take on generally winged appearances (Lenalee's just prior to crystalization, for example).

A lovely chapter all around. I wasn't really all that excited about Kanda's backstory at first (It came up at a pretty inconvenient time. Just as I was getting geared up for some more Noahs), but now I can't wait to see how it's resolved.

Though I'm a bit disappointed that we don't get to see Allen and Road's reactions. Couldn't you have at least doodled them in the background in a couple places, Hoshino? I'm starting to doubt they're actually there.

I'm kinda surprised that no ones mentioned it yet, but after Mari pulls the arrow out of Kandas back, Kanda looks at him and asks 'Haven't I seen you somewhere?'

if we're working under the assumption that the 2nd Exorcists are the recycled DNA of dead apostles, then I think it's a fairly safe bet to say that Kanda somehow knew Mari in his previous incarnation. Granted, Mari is only 9 years older than Kanda, but who says that the 2nds where grown from sperm and egg? why not insert the dna into ready made 'shells'? that's only slightly different from how they made the 3rds after all.
