So, about the Earl...

Hey, everyone!

I'm new to the community (and Livejournal for that matter XD) and I come here with a discussion prompt that is also a request.

I wanted to know your guys' opinions about the Earl. As in, who the hell is he, anyway? Some biblical figure? And why are the Noah Clansmen, who have been chosen by God, fighting alongside his worst enemy? And if they are chosen by God, why is Innocence, God's crystal, poisonous (or something like that O_o) to them?

After a little investigation, I was going for the theory that the Earl is actually either Ham or Canaan, son and grandson of Noah who were cursed by him, and all the other Noah Clansmen were his descendents. But the thing is (and I only realised this because I was rewatching the anime by chance XD) the Earl was already around at the time of the great flood and it seems he was the one who caused it. There goes my theory (Note to self: Don't forget important plot threads >_<). So I was wondering what everyone thinks. All we know for sure is that the Earl's human (Tykki says so in chapter 158) and I think it is also mentioned that he turned humanity against God or something of the like. With this in mind, discuss away, people! =D

Oh, right, and this is kind of a request because I need theories for a fic I'm writing XP (I'm also in dire need of theories about the Heart but I've already seen a post about this so there's no need to repeat it... Still, if you want to tie it in with the Earl and Noah discussion, feel free to do so =D)
