Chapter 166 SPOILERS AHEAD

I'm stayin up l,ate like always and I checked onemanga for the new chapter cause I'm so anxious. So, I thought I'd post a small summary of what happens! :D

Here goes!

• First off. It shows how Allen and Mana met.
• It SHOWS MANA'S FACE! Though he's covered in clown make-up. So we don't get a real look. Apparently though he's bald.
  
• Allen wasn't always polite. He was downright rude even. (Now THAT was funny)
  
• They meet cause the dog Mana uses in his act dies and he's burrying him, Allen comes over and they start talking.
• Allen comes into the room Cross is waiting in. Lavi follows along to do Bookman stuff.
• In the room are members of Special Combat Division from Central's Assassination Squad "Crow" according to Lavi
• Those dudes are the reason Komui is so threatened by Central
• HUGE ONE.
  
• MANA IS THE 14TH'S OLDER BROTHER. (HOLYCRAPHOLYCRAPHOLYCRAP)
• It shows the back of them as little kids
• Cross knew all along (shocker shocker)
• He was asked by the 14th to watch over Mana
• If he did the 14th said he'd come back to Mana
• Cuts to Lenalee and Johny waiting in the library. Say they'll stay up till Allen gets back
• And the chapter ends with Cross saying "You had the 14th memories implanted in you. You are the host nesisary to his revival."

Well, this is the best note to go to bed on ever eh? OMG, I am so happy right now. >w< Anyway hope you all like the info!

I'm new here as well. WTF was my reaction. I was like totally confused but it was kind blow all my theories out of proportions...gotta calm down. I don't like Allen being a sacrifical lamb and I'm kind of disappointed he's a host of the 14th. I mean give the boy a break.

I think there's something else going on. I really, really, really feel something niggling at my brain and it's at the tip of my tongue but I can't figure it out. Something about all of this is not clicking how it's supposed to...

But I definitely agree that it would really suck if Allen is the 14th's host, but it makes sense. What doesn't make sense is Cross's 180 attitude, but I think that's because of the Black Order not because Cross wants to act this way because he was supportive before...

I'm most surprised, actually, by the fact that the original 14th Noah wasn't Mana after all. But, yeah, finally having it confirmed is awesome. I wonder how the memories got put in Allen.

So now we have Allen the 14th Noah, Lenalee as the creatror of a special kind of Innocence, Kanda of the Lotus Tattoo, and possibly Lavi being the Heart. Wheeeee. *____*

I have a really shaky theory which i suspected a long time ago when Crown Clown possesed Allen...I believe that part of crown clown is a fusion of innocence and noah..this again makes me doubt he's the heart cos' the heart'd wanna be untainted and pure..some ppl already wondered(me included) if he could talk to crown clown too..i believe this part of him is the 14th as I believe the 14th met allen as a clown and allen ended up a clown no?

...Ok, so I need time to let all the information sink in before I start making my own speculations/rambles XD Also, next chapter will be very important, so I'll probably wait for it before brainstorming for hypothesis.

Still... Am I the only one who's getting a little freaked out with this Noah!Allen talk? O_o Is Hoshino trying to turn Allen into a Gary-Stu? Next thing we know, he's the Heart, the other part of him is possessed by the original weilder of Innocence who fought the Earl the first time around, he's winning the hearts of all his comrades (Sokaro and Kanda and Bookman included... OMG, this has already started with Komurin X, though it was only crack... '-_-) and saving the world with the power of LOVE AND PEACE! (Oh, God, now he's Vash! And we all know Hoshino has a thing for him, 'cause she originally drew Lavi just like him XD)

I don't really mind he has a Noah inside him, it could provide lots of angst and plotty stuff (like... will the others really trust him after this? Especially Kanda? 8D) but if it isn't handled well... I can see DGM and, above all, Allen's character going down the drain O_O But, I shall have faith in Hoshino!

I'm... frustrated? Disappointed? Annoyed?

D.Gray-man is the first fandom I've gotten truly, deeply into, enough to make me want to form theories and actually share them and do shit for the community of it, etc. And, wow, feeling really let down now that I find out a lot of the stuff I thought of has been single-handedly ruined in this chapter. ;

Anyways, maybe I'm just not ready to give up the ghost, but I'm not totally sure about this whole brother thing. Cross might very well be making up some details to cover his and/or Allen's asses, especially since they're being so heavily watched, guarded, etc. It doesn't seem as if Cross Marian would make things that easy...

When they show the young brothers holding hands, I can't shake how much the one on the left (assuming it is Mana) looks like Tyki with long hair. Additionally, flashbacks of Mana--that one where he is sitting down next to the suitcase with his back turned, facing Allen...well, when we saw Cyril and the longhair!Tyki for the first time, I couldn't shake the striking resemblance. And I don't want to let that go all for nothing. Not only that, but it was Mana who could curse Allen in such a manner as he is now, it was Mana who had the Noah crest on his coat buttons, Mana who taught Allen the symbols for the song, etc...

I almost want to say Mana and the 14th are still one in the same, but living a double life. I think (hope) Cross is covering up things.

If they really are brothers, I kind of feel like Hoshino just pulled this out of her ass. And Allen... being the 14th, being a Noah? It sounds like bad fanfiction to me. skgksjk. I don't like it, do not want. ;

So the kid in the beginning is Allen and the clown is Mana? Are you sure? (Or am I reading this wrong? Or was this already addressed, or...?)

Because it looks like that kid has control of his arm, and Allen never did when he met Mana. That and that clown is bald but in the picture of Mana and Allen here (http://www.onemanga.com/D.Gray-Man/135/DGM_135_pg15/) Mana appears to have very long hair! (Though I suppose he could be bald under the hat, or wearing a bald-cap with the clown suit.)

Little!Allen looks older than little!Allen from the beginning of the manga. Then again, all of the characters look older than they did at the beginning of the manga, so maybe Hoshino's style has just changed.

If the 14th's memories awaken, does Allen become a Noah, then? The other Noahs became that way when Noah's memories awaken...but will Allen's self be replaced by the 14th's self, or will he just have two sets of memories? Or can he have the 14th's memories, but not his Noah-ness or Noah powers, which aren't supposed to coexist with Innocence anyway? I have no idea.

I don't really like the idea of Noah-Allen. It was pretty predictable, since fan-versions of Noah-Allen have been around for ages, but I prefer an Allen who stands in a more direct contrast to the Noahs. Personally, I'd like it if he could somehow be linked to the 14th without being a Noah. (Aaand one of my fanfic ideas is an AU now, I think...)

Also, what was wrong with kid Allen? Even accounting for changes during his three years with Mana, Allen's personality seems way off. He read like a young Edward Elric, which is something Hoshino-sensei should really avoid. She seems to be characterizing him inconsistently. I always liked the gentlemanly side of Allen, because that's not the usual hero type in shounen comics.

Okay, enough with the complaints! I'm glad we had an elucidating flashback and more info about Mana. Also, the picture of Mana and the 14th holding hands = AAWWWWWWWW! Linali's hair is cute too.

Okay I'm....confused right now.

I always thought of Allen as a CUTE Child with a girly haircut, not of a mini-kanda badass boy....

I expectet Allen to be a Noah himself or at least that mana was a Noah.
I always had the theorie since Chomesuke showed up and told the others that she was modified by Cross not to kill people even if she's an akuma.

So When Allen wanted to bring Mana when he was a child I thought that Allen was somehow turned into an Akuma without dying at all.
Cross took care of him and stuff... bleh we definitely need an community just for discussion xD


So I'm not surprised that a part of Mana is living inside Allen or that Allen is a Noah but I'm disappointed how Allen act when he was a child and met Mana.

I really, really wonder what those creepy guys did to freak Komui out so badly...

And that chapter almost made me cry because of the dog. Yes. Because of the dog. I felt so bad for him...*is an animal lover* But that's one thing I'm loving about DGM--even though a couple animals end up dead, Hoshino gives it an emotional impact, instead of casually killing them off like they're nothing. The characters, and thus the reader, are really brought to care about them. It was especially present with the dog.

It seems like young!Allen acts like Kanda does now, and I bet post-traumatic-events(whatever they were, probably akuma related) Kanda was much like Allen now. Perhaps they resent each other because they see themselves when they were weaker? Hmm...

I have this feeling that Cross is going to reveal all of this epic life changing information, then get 'taken away' by those Vatican goons. Allen will have to deal with this stuff with no guidance, and there will be angsting. Lavi, Kanda, and Lenalee will all have problems of their own and there will be many chapters of wangsting team-building wangst Innocence-related wangst and then a few chapters of Revenge of the Wangst. A few years later Cross will show up back at the Order and mention in passing that he himself is the 14th, Mana was just someone he owed money, Kanda is the reincarnation of a Buddhist sanzo, that Timcanpy is the Heart, and the only reason he let anyone think otherwise was because he wanted the Order to pay attention to someone else for a while. Allen will then concurrently headbutt himself in the face and spontaneously combust. This will be the end of the series.
