A speculation and fan art request

Well, I'm not sure if I'm on the right track, but after looking at 147, I have a speculation.

Borrowing Lenalee's mouth to get my idea going. In 146, Allen looked supremely distracted in his fight against the level 4, and someone had pointed out at wikipedia that at level 4, the imprisoned soul within the Akuma is all but gone. In 147, the lvl 4 is killing its own guys.

In 148, Allen would have to ask himself the old question: What does he aim to achieve as an Exorcist? If the level 4's soul can't be saved, how will he defeat it? In his rage, the monocle evolves yet again.

Here's where my fan art request comes in. Instead of having just 1 smaller gear beside the main gear, there are now 6 gears around it, arranged like a 6 pointed star. Also, while the old monocle has an inhuman eye in the middle,  now it's replaced by a red void, while the smaller gears have eyes in them.

Sounds familiar? At the postmortem of the event (Allen easily defeating the level 4 with the new eye and Crown Clown Omega), Bak (wrapped up nicely) and Komui sits to discuss Allen's new eye, and the fact that Crown Clown's cowl and the new eye seemed to be permanently stuck on his body, not to mention that his left hand now resembles CC with its finger-claws retracted. Lenalee is allowed to listen in.

Komui begins by stating that Allen has refused any treatment or checkup, not that it matters, since he looks unhurt. Bak then remembers the outburst Allen had before he faced Thread, about him needing the Akuma.

Bak: Komui, do you think it's possible for the Innocence to forge its own "Akuma"?
Komui (sitting up straight): What do you mean?
Bak: The Akuma manipulates dark matter. Does the Innocence not use the anti-thesis of dark matter as a weapon? And Walker's eye....It reminds me too much of a level 3's eyes.
Lenalee (getting worried): Bak-san, Ni-san...
Bak: (not really sure if it's right but..) Also, while Walker was saving me and Fou, with the help of his eye, I saw the soul within that level 3. It was already badly degenerated. The soul within that level4...
Komui (grimly): That may well be Allen-kun's fate.
Bak, Lenalee:?!!
Komui: If what Bak Chan said is true, then my theory about parasitic Exorcists may have to change. Then again, it could be the fate of Allen-kun as the Destroyer of Time.

If the Akuma evolution process destroys the soul within it bit by bit, then the same could happen to Allen as Crown Clown evolves. In the end... the Allen Walker whom we know may cease to exist, replaced by a being that exists solely to destroy Akuma, without pity or mercy, and regardless of all that stands in its way.

Comments? Personally, I hope that this is not the case.

I can't wait. If it is, it'd be so brilliant.

I find this extremely disturbing yet utterly fascinating at the same time. I think your on to something and i cant wait to see if that is indeed what Hoshino Katsura intends.

It's an interesting theory, but Allen doesn't seem to be in danger of losing himself. It's been pointed out that Allen's last two upgrades have been a result of his enormous compassion - the reconstruction of his Innocence, and by extension Crown Clown Gamma, came about because he decided to fight for the sake of both humans and akuma. Crown Clown Omega directly resulted from his resolve to save/cleanse the Noah as well. That's why I think that his Crown Clown evolutions reflect his growing awareness of the great responsibilities that come with his great powers (to paraphrase Uncle Ben, heh), rather than the loss of his self. (General Sokalo, on the other hand...>.>)

And I think that if there's even a chance that there's any soul left to save, even the smallest vestige, Allen will go for it. Cos that's the kind of nut he is.XD

And don't Akuma kill indiscriminately anyway? Level 3s were already killing and consuming other Akuma. The only thing that keeps Akuma in check is the Millennium Earl, and it seems like the Earl was not terribly specific about who to not kill in this mission. So my guess is the Lvl 4 is just exercising its evolutionary imperative to kill everything that moves.

Now that is an interesting theory also. Something like Jedi and Sith, ne?

IIRC anger and malice is how Allen triggered the first evolution of his Innocence, way back in the Ghost of Matel arc. But it was Kanda giving the blow by blow commentary that time, so. Not that I think that Kanda's worldview is colored by his own personal issues.XD ahem.

Aaand this may be an unrelated tangent, but Allen's arm started to crack from "overuse" during that phase... perhaps because he had evolved it for the wrong reasons? Maybe he is now on the "right" track, as his arm has remained steady since he regained his Innocence, and god knows he's been overusing the hell out of it lately.

It would be interesting if Allen's eye and hand took even more control over him. (They've certainly acted on their own before.) I would love to see Allen as a puppet of the Innocence, trying to fight for control. However, I doubt that will happen.

On another note, I'm so glad Bak's alive~
