.... Licensed?
Okay, so a friend of mine was watching a con panel with Greg Ayres about fansubs and he's talking to some guy about working on Death Note and at about 1:05-1:07, a guy mentions that he's "in D.Gray-man". So, I'm guessing Viz got the anime or something? Unless our hearing is off, this is leaked news. xD If so, it means they're good at keeping secrets.

The guy said "he'll probably be in D.Gray-Man", anyway. There's quite possibly an invisible "if/when it's licensed" there.
I agree with you that Viz would have sent cease-and-desist letters. And I'd like to look on the bright side for its possible future licensing; the anime serves as advertisement for the manga, right? ... But, because I am so very good at defeating my own arguments, I guess some people would watch it and not bother with the manga and I do have a certain amount of sympathy for the viewpoint that says lots of new and ignorant fans are not a good thing.
So the bottom line is I Don't Know if I think licensing is a good or a bad thing, and I don't think this video's really grounds for worry.

I don't think that the video has enough plausible proof of its being licensed because why would Viz keep this info hidden from the public? They do need to make profit after all.
As for new and ignorant fans, the only thing I would do is ignore them and they would either learn or go away eventually when the next big thing arrives. ^^

I don't think it really has evidence, even. I think they're just aware of the likelihood that it will someday be licensed.
I'm kind of a fandom recluse, so I don't think it'd affect me much; for that reason, I shall reserve judgment and leave it to people to whom it really matters.

I forgot to ask, but what do you mean by that comment? I am curious right now. ^^

The resemblance is striking enough to be really freaky.
