Since it hasn't been posted here yet, I figured I'd put it up here for the people who may not have read about this in other various places already.

Anyway, D.Gray-Man will be returning in November, but in Jump SQ, so it will be published every month instead of every week.

The schedule might be better for Hoshino, though in the volumes of Ouran I have, Hatori writes about the stress she's under as well, but I guess this would be less stressful for Hoshino either way because she wouldn't be turning out chapters every week. I don't know, better quality art, longer chapters, and a schedule that would be (presumably) easier on the artist/author? It sounds pretty good to me.

Any update is good enough for me, really. Time has always been the artist's decision. But perhaps having it weekly is too pressuring for Hoshino-sensei. She needs the load off~

I prefer the longer monthly updates to weekly releases myself, so this is welcome news. IMO a monthly release allows the mangaka to develop the story at a more comfortable pace (weekly chapters seem to slow the story down and allow for more filler - it's what I've noticed in most of the weekly manga that I've been reading). Hopefully it will prove to be a better arrangement for Hoshino.

Monthly updates= less filler.

I've only seen stories improve by shifting to the monthly format, so this'll be a good thing.

Plus it also means Hoshino will have less chance of hurting her damn arm again.

at least it will continue Q_Q
kinda sad, its kicked out of wsj...T__T

I'm really happy that Hoshino comes back - even if this monthly.
After all, even if we will have less page, we surely will have a great chapter every month.^^

Thanks for this information ! ♥

This is one thing I like about DGM. I don't get lazy catching up on it. I gave up on KHR because of this. It also builds up my anticipation! :D

[identity profile] xraaawrx.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! Well I am exited for the chapters nontheless!<3

[identity profile] revolve.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, I thought it was coming back August 17?

[identity profile] kalanikamori.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It will be back in August, but only temporarily though Akamaru. Chapters following 187 will start a healthy, monthly publication in Jump SQ ^^

[identity profile] kalanikamori.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
**through Akamaru, my bad.

[identity profile] revolve.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhh, I see. Thanks! :D

I'm just happy we're finally coming off hiatus. A monthly schedule may be what Hoshino needs.

[identity profile] moonlightspirit.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
as long as DGM is back I dont care if its monthly~

Iam just happy that we finally have some dates now when to expect it xD
and it may be better for her health as well :/

[identity profile] lavilena.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the new!
You make my day :D

I don’t care, I just want my favorites characters back! >3

[identity profile] mellmell.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I like monthly formats better, I think. More pages to read at once~ And I agree that I think it allows for the author to write the story more smoothly. <3

Though I won't have internet for the August release, sadly... I can't wait for it to start back up again~
I'm happy Hoshino made this choice (or whoever made this choice). I really hope this will be a good thing for her.

While I'm sad, this is really good for Hoshino. Less pressure and more time to really think things through. Plus she's likely to stop getting sick as much (which I suspect is from staying up late working).

As for Hatori - she's such a last minute procrastinator. haha. But who can blame her? I'd do the same.

[identity profile] anitheanimaniac.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, I'm just glad its coming back. kchnxkbhfkla <33333

[identity profile] knittedninja.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather her take time and do one really good update every month than a rush job on a weekly update. As long as it's still running, I'm happy. I figure that the monthly updates are a way for her to ease back into this - with all the problems with her arm I totally understand.

[identity profile] rejects.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just glad it's coming back at all. It could have gone away entirely, or ended up being like HunterxHunter. :(

[identity profile] chichilein.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Like everyone here I'm glad Hoshino took this decision. I was very worried about her since she looks so fragile in real life I wonder how she handeled a weekly release.

Though I'm kind of sad she's not a "WJ Star" anymore because her story stood out of the whole man-business. But for the sake of story... I also wonder if she can do more things in SQ plotwise like..more mature content? more gore? drama? 8D

[identity profile] the-lady-sakura.livejournal.com 2009-08-12 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
A monthly release would be just fine with me.

It should be better for Hoshino and hopefully she can keep up a lot better and develop the story more.

I'm just glad it'll be back on a regular schedule.

[identity profile] sailormac.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
This sounds like a win-win for everyone. Win for Hoshino because she gets a schedule that's less strain on her arm, win for the fans because the story will continue and they'll probably get the same amount of pages every month anyway. I'm glad Jump and Hoshino came to this solution.

Now, maybe the plagiarism rumors will finally go away.

[identity profile] sunshinecyanide.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
I've been thinking she should have changed to a monthly schedule for a while now. While I love getting an update every week, it seems like she was having trouble keeping up with it at times. And like others have been saying, it will give her more time to put out better chapters.
