... does anyone think Lavi was Gary Stu'd a bit? Same as Lenalee was Mary Sue'd?

Don't get me wrong - I both love those characters immensely, but that's been bugging me for a bit. I mean, I love how powerful they are but...

Oh and totally irrelevant but is it worth spending the money for a stupid paid account so I can add me some DGM icons as I can't delete what I have now (I mean, Bjork and P.Diddy can never leave EVAR!!!). Has anyone done something like this?

Well just thinking overall. Seemed they got more stereotypical - more obvious with Lenalee than Lavi who magically can do everything without fail far too often, I think. Same could be said for Allen to a degree. Just was thinking about this after reading all the wank in different communities lately, and when it's fine to like the M.S/G.S'd characters.

And aha, can sympathize on the bitter part. I wanted to learn more about Klaud's students. I did research on name meanings and if they're to be judged on that she would have had many of the really religious students who were passive and that her job would have been to toughen them up.

Ahaa, and I see. But might STILL have to wait (scalped Sigur Ros tickets floor, section three, row B? Totally worth it!) unless I'm able to get my other commissions come in after I get funds for my Canada trip and make sure I'm set for Otakon. RAWR.

Hmm... I'm going to say this even though Linali as a character makes me roll my eyes more often than not, BUT if she's been MSed a bit now that she's regained her Dark Boots, she paid for it with all that time she spent not being about to do anything. Besides, she's probably not the only char to go the way of the Crystal-Type, just the first. I do agree with kumori_no_koi on Lavi, though. Maybe Hoshino-san is doing this because she wants them to be able to keep up with Allen's sudden new upsurge in bad-ass, I dunno. I think also that a lot of this hinges on what the Earl's got to gain by keeping the Black Order around; those words have really stuck in my head since Panda-face mentioned it.

I was really looking forward to meeting Cloud's students as well! I mean, Cloud herself is so bad-ass, it would stand to reason that they'd be rather interesting in their own right as well; especially since it seemed that she had at least two girls as her disciples. Heh, you make a good point about the name meanings; I actually ended up playing Gwen Flail as an OC in a message board RPG a while back.

Wai, concert~ Those are always fun! Have fun with your trip and the con!

Edit!: I also feel the need to say that Linali as a character could have been handled about a trillion different, better ways so that she wouldn't make any of us want to rip our hair out. (Is that possibly a pun? Oh, hell, I think it is.)

.... You've RPed as Gwen???

... Would you consider RPing her with my Cloud at the Destroyer of Time RPG? ( destroyeroftime.proboards78.com/ ). In the game, they're bringing back deceased characters (as sort of a main pivotal plot point), and Cloud at the moment is relatively bored and put on minor suspension. There's also a flashback board for all the back in time stuff (like there, I did something with Cloud meeting Sokaro for the first time for example with the guy who I think is the best Sokaro EVARRRRR)

Ohh, YEAH, I've played as Gwen. xD Here's her character sheet for the other game. (http://z4.invisionfree.com/Black_Order_AU/index.php?showtopic=41) She's kinda an addictive character, actually. I've also got a 50 themes claim of her up at 50_elements.

Hmm, for the character apps, what are the accepted methods of bringing a character back from the dead? If I play Gwen, I'd love to have her in the main storyline.

There should be a thread somewhere with what's going on with the plot which explains a little as the Earl's been bringing back people (though, right now, the Earl's been a bit m.i.a. due to RL issues), but it's a pretty neat plot. Though also, other ideas are welcome. Maybe leaf through a little or give me a message on AIM or Yahell or something? I'm almost always on though my net's fucking up recently, and well... exam whenever prof gets back (it's been 30 mins already.... rawr).
