... does anyone think Lavi was Gary Stu'd a bit? Same as Lenalee was Mary Sue'd?

Don't get me wrong - I both love those characters immensely, but that's been bugging me for a bit. I mean, I love how powerful they are but...

Yes, but his alcoholism is presented as another one of his superhuman abilities; we've never actually seen him incapable of performing because he was intoxicated. I doubt any real person could drink as much as we've seen Cross toss it back! Even when we witnessed him drunk with Klaud, the moment Allen appeared, he was placed back in control. His trysts don't exactly have repercussions; aside from an unimpressed Klaud, we're given the impression that Cross is well-loved by women. XD Not only Anita, but her mother, too! I really love Cross -- but I can see the case made for him, especially when other flawed characters like Ravi and Rinali, are called Sueish.

Why do you think Ravi is Sueish, by the way? :)

Ahahaha, I have to agree he is one of the hugest Stus I've seen, but at the same time I can't quite figure out why it doesn't bug the hell out of me--maybe because he's not a main character and the spotlight isn't really on him. And I guess that makes me hypocritical in my opinion on Linali, but I am craving the day when we see Cross truly messed up somehow. ;; I really want to see a case of his drunkenness getting him into trouble, or getting in trouble for having Maria (this is against the church... why has nobody said, hey wtf Cross, yet?), or just. Something.

Essentially, it'd be interesting to see if they actually go back to the soldiers of the Vatican type ordeal.

And essentially, Cross is just always that dude who you wish you could hate but can't. But if we're going that root, then I mean look at Krory and Sokaro as nonos for just... well, being.

Then that makes me hope to all Hell that they go into Sokaro's back story, especially after some of the Cloud Nine insinuations.

Cross comes in like the US cavalry at the end of war movies, godmoddy and just in the nick of time to save our poor heroes. His presence has loomed throughout the series even when he was missing for the majority of it. He was always in the background pulling everyone's strings. I think that's why when we finally do see him, he comes in like a tidal wave and we're washed away. We've been mentally preparing for Cross's godmodding since Allen first mentioned him. It's not a surprise; it's expected. And plus, let's face it, in animanga fandom, male Stuism is seen as BADASS while female Sueism is seen as ANNOYING. u.u

Some part of me wants Cross to have some totally anticlimatic backstory. XD It turns out, he used to be a total lover UNTIL ONE TRAGIC DAY and now he's the boozehound bastard we love today. Or something equally ridiculous. I would love some backstory, sigh. It seems like Cross went to a lot of trouble to keep Maria hidden from the higher ups. He only called her out in the science lab battle when there was no other choice. (YOU'RE DEAD, MARIA, YOU'LL BE FINE. He's so sweet. |D) Either she wasn't noticed in the chaos or he'll be facing up soon.
