... does anyone think Lavi was Gary Stu'd a bit? Same as Lenalee was Mary Sue'd?

Don't get me wrong - I both love those characters immensely, but that's been bugging me for a bit. I mean, I love how powerful they are but...

Oh and totally irrelevant but is it worth spending the money for a stupid paid account so I can add me some DGM icons as I can't delete what I have now (I mean, Bjork and P.Diddy can never leave EVAR!!!). Has anyone done something like this?

You forgot to mention that right before the fight, there is a scene with Lenalee and Kanda where she comments how tired she is sometimes from being coddled by everyone in the HQ. She's practically the baby sister of everyone in the science department, but that puts as much strain on her as it does attention. She barely gets a moment to herself.

Her bonding with Allen did happen very quickly, with her being ready to fight for his life one story arc in, but one must remember that they're only kids of their age in the entire HQ. Of course they're going to stick with each other.

I did, thank you for bringing it up! That Rinali gets tired of the attention demonstrates her identity as an individual. That places a lot of high expectations on her.

Good point! Rinali also views all of her comrades as family. She grew up in a military setting ...that she would be devout toward her teammate makes sense.

Well, it's not that Allen is super special (well, he IS, but that's not the reason or the proof! :P) that she does that. That's just how Lenalee is. Remember her definition of "The World"? Her nakama are the world to her, and she'll fight to the ends of the earth to protect them. If you become part of her nakama, then she will die for you. That's just how she is.
