Anime Dub

Do you foresee D.Gray-man getting dubbed? If it was, what voice actors would you put with whom?

I can see it getting dubbed, yes. But I have no idea who would play who...

Before I saw the Death Note dub, I thought there's no way that D.Gray-Man could ever be dubbed. Now I've rethought it, but I'm still dubious, because D.Gray-Man has darker undertones than Death Note, not to mention a lot more religious stuff. I shudder to think that they might butcher the Black Order's name. And they might try to not mention God and apostles. If a dub were to come out, I'd be a little scared.

I don't know much about english voice actors, because I don't much care for english voice acting. But that Vic guy that people keep mentioning? Absolutely not. I really don't like him as Edward Elric.

Death itself is not very scary or impressive; it's more the means of death that will determine whether a series is particularly dark, I think. I was drawn to Death Note because of Light and L's personalities and intelligence, not because of its theme of death. Fantasy or not, I found Suman's death a lot more disturbing than any death in Death Note. It's specifically because Death Note is a thriller that you don't feel much for those who end up dying.

Well, all I know is that whenever there's mention of God (or gods), and anything else religious, they tend to go heavy on the editing. Have you ever seen Yugioh? They never referred to Ra, Obelisk and Osiris as gods in the dub. And a more prominent example is in the .hack games. I have never been able to find an image of the original, but in Infection, Skeith's wand was a Celtic cross, and it was instead changed to the shape of a Q, essentially. Basically, if they were to show it on TV, I think there'd be a better chance of heavy editing than if it were to be released directly on DVD.
