Question about Chapter 184

So a while ago there was a discussion about where Allen's name came from. Mana obviously gave him his last name and someone wondered if he had also given him the name Allen. I think the general consensus was that Allen was too old when he and Mana met to not already have a name and that he probably wouldn't have taken well to someone just up and replacing his name.

And then this chapter happened and I am all kinds of confused all over again. What. Was the deal. With that dream? o.O

Why was Mana saying "Allen", in quotation marks? And then the disappearing name? What. The hell.

*Is massively bewildered and alarmed*

So - because of the previous discussion - my first thought was "well, maybe Allen actually answered to brat or something at the circus" and now as I'm writing this another (possibly more reasonable, and vastly more alarming) option came to mind - was Mana replacing Allen's with the Fourteenth's perhaps?

Sorry if this was evident to everyone. I am still not sure either way. Thoughts?

Also, did anyone notice that when Allen was pinned to the wall/thing the blood splashed behind him shaped wings?

Allen's face when he realized he was in a dream = hilarious

Hmm, that's all a matter of opinion. Regardless, I'm assuming it has more to do with Allen's interactions with souls than it does with anyone having to be dead.

o.o hmmm.. Depends. Maybe death is a fuzzy thing for Hoshino and not just black and white. Allen did say he felt death and all.. And Allen should have died more than once now. ^^; ha ha ha.. like, 3 times he seems to nearly be done for... maybe 4 including most recently.

... I know I wouldn't have survived a sword that big slicing through my torso... ^^;;
