Question about Chapter 184
So a while ago there was a discussion about where Allen's name came from. Mana obviously gave him his last name and someone wondered if he had also given him the name Allen. I think the general consensus was that Allen was too old when he and Mana met to not already have a name and that he probably wouldn't have taken well to someone just up and replacing his name.
And then this chapter happened and I am all kinds of confused all over again. What. Was the deal. With that dream? o.O
Why was Mana saying "Allen", in quotation marks? And then the disappearing name? What. The hell.
*Is massively bewildered and alarmed*
So - because of the previous discussion - my first thought was "well, maybe Allen actually answered to brat or something at the circus" and now as I'm writing this another (possibly more reasonable, and vastly more alarming) option came to mind - was Mana replacing Allen's with the Fourteenth's perhaps?
Sorry if this was evident to everyone. I am still not sure either way. Thoughts?
Also, did anyone notice that when Allen was pinned to the wall/thing the blood splashed behind him shaped wings?
Allen's face when he realized he was in a dream = hilarious

I think when Mana started to say "Allen" and then the name disappearing, means that the 14th is taking over Allen slowly and Allen is disappearing. Or something like that. I mean, the 14th took over when Allen woke up.

Ok, that makes sense.
Hey - do you remember chapter...oh god, 36 - when Allen's "cursed" eye evolves - there was a weird-ass freaky skull with a pentacle and a stylized D on it and it went inside Allen's head? Does that maybe mean that Allen has both Mana AND the Fourteenth inside him?

Allen is a dork. ♥

But you think it could potentially be his circus name? (That would be so much less distressing than the 14th's name)

Also, something to note, when he says "They have been waiting for a long time", is he referring to himself and the 14th?, since part of both are inside Allen.

My guess is the same, that Mana started calling the 14th's name instead of Allen's. But one thing puzzles me, in chapter 166 Mana said "So you were Allen's friend", does that mean that Allen is the name of the dog? Or maybe they just happen to have the same name?
And we got to see Tyki's wounds! But which wounds were he referring to? (the stigma or the wound he got from crown clown)

There was a bunch of discussion about this not too long ago, but the main thought was that Mana was thinking, in reference to the dog, that 'you [the dog] were Allen's friend' :) It seems to make the most sense if it's this way!
I was really surprised to see those wounds. I didn't really think they would be there...but hey. Allen really did a number on Tyki didn't he? I personally think Tyki was talking about the wound he got from Crown Clown; maybe it's like the feeling of Innocence lingering in his body or something - really painful. So many questions raised from this chapter *__*

It is confusing, and I thought I was over the confusion but then this chapter happened and I am all kinds of bewildered again :S

I found it really interesting how Tyki seems to be seeing things in reflective surfaces like Allen is. Except he seems to be handling it...not as well. Does this mean that Allen's weapon doesn't exactly exorcise the Noah, but actually forces it out to be more prominent? Both Allen and Noah have creepy Noah-things (I assume so anyway) stalking them in the glass now.
Also, many lols at Tim eating the other golem~ No one even noticed the poor thing get munched down by ol' Tim. He's gotten so big now -sigh- :D

Allen's cursed eye is not closed, it's just...blanked. Hoshino-sensie may be implying something here, just pure guess.
It seems like all the hosts to the Noah can see their Noah in the reflection to some extend (referring back to Skin's flashback).

I didn't even notice Timcampy eating the other golem until the second time I read through it. I was too busy going "so what, is Allen's random fever better now??"
*ahem* Did anyone else recall how Skin Bolic turned into a Noah? It involved a fever, as I remember. I'm just waiting for Allen to get stigmata. Shouldn't be too long now.
... Was that in the anime or the manga though? Or both? I can't recall. I suppose the manga since I wasn't watching the anime as much at the time.. but I kept switching between the two, so the whole (sorry for the pun) Noah's Arc (arc ark ha ha ha) was a bit fuzzy as to what was anime canon and what was manga canon.
GAHHH! I don't want my Allen to disappear! I hope that the fourteenth was Allen all along in some weird ass twist of events! *_* lol I guess that doesn't work too well though.

Okay, it may just be artistic license (funny things happen in dreams), but that struck me as odd and possibly significant in some way.

I did! I also noticed that what Allen was pinned to looks perculiarly like a gravestone even though it's probably not.

but to me it seemed like When Mana was taking Allen away
thats when this Noah woke up
so possibly by Mana taking Allen he was trying to take Allen away
and bring out 14.
ack! just my thoughts haha not sure on anything
i guess were just gonna have to wait for the next chapters to
find out the answer ahh -_- i hate waiting
OMGGG
this is regarding allen getting his name
I just reread chapter 166 where Mana and Allen meet for the first
time and in page 4 Mana asks who he is (referring to Allen)
but allen never gave his name in the chapter
...so O_O;; huh....................
blah but at page 8 the words are on the grave..so i guess he did
know his name or was referring to allen knowing the dog..
..ah i dont know anymore -__-
im making my brain hurt even more T_T;

Whoa, I did some googling after I read that and it turns out that there is only one bird named Neogyps and that is Neogyps errans. It is an aegypiinae (the Old World Vulture), a group of raptors commonly found in Africa and Eurasia. But the fossil of N. errans is found in North America and it lived during the Pleistocene era.
Perhaps it has something to do with vulture? After all the 14th seems to be looming over Allen watching him and waiting to take over Allen, just like a vulture stalking upon its prey. And maybe since Noah dated back to the bible times, the name of an ancient vulture was chosen.
idk for sure...
Oh yeah, I totally overlooked the fever as the process of the awakening! Can't wait to see what happens next, and somehow excited to see Lavi's reaction to it (being a bookman Lavi should know more than Kanda and Lenalee + the photographic memory, there would be no second guessing like Lenalee did):D
