More 184 Discussion

I understand why all the hype about Allen is huge this chapter round but there's a small itching on my brain and I can't help but let it out after I thoroughly thought it through to points of making it make sense.

My discussion post will be about Tyki Mikk and I think a lot of you saw this coming. During his brief couple panel appearance he appears, with his wounds hurting. They just happen to start hurting after Allen's Noah awakens again and this might make sense.

Whenever Allen's Noah comes out it looks like Tyki did with short hair and the wound Allen accidentally dealt to himself is essentially on the same side he got Tyki.

It's also widely said that Tyki is Earl's favorite Noah and considering Earl enjoy's allen as well, this is another thing.

This morning I did take the liberty of noticing Tyki and Allen are nearly exact opposites, or would be appearance wise, if it was still short hair Tyki that is.

I know this seems like a random fangirlish suggestion but I honestly believe Tyki and Allen are connected somehow, now that Allen's Noah is awakened. The last thing is why did Road look so dead whenever Tyki spoke?

Perhaps she knows something.

Re: Road - I kind of took it that the chaos in that room was caused by Tyki in some fit of pain, and Road's lethargy was pretty much her way of saying, "Yes, it's natural to hurt this bloody much, it can't be helped."

My one hope is that Tyki doesn't end up like Skin, at this point, orz.

[identity profile] ruxi.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thankfully, Skin did have the most intense memories, so Tyki could never hope to get that bad? It's strange to think of it from that point of view, though, that all their wrath and insanity may have come just from... too much pain. Oh man ._.

You're welcome to anything here (http://s446.photobucket.com/albums/qq184/dixistis/temp/).

Yeah, I think there is a connection too... I mean, I don't know, their scars look exactly alike, and I am not sure if means anything...
Also, in this chapter, where are Tyki and Road? I mean, Road looks like she just got shanked, which makes no sense, because doesn't she heal instantly? And all the broken windows? I don't know...

I don't know, I think that Allen's sword is not done messing with Tyki...I mean, what if it actually does get the Noah out of Tyki, and makes him completely normal?
It would be like Allen and Tyki switching places! LOL

[identity profile] closeincline.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I really liked his white side, because it made him so interesting...
Realistically, I doubt that he would ever be fully exorcised, but it would be interesting to see what happened, and how he would be treated...(would the Earl still be nice to him and everything?)

I am under impression that they were in the Ark - it was implied that Rhode spends a lot of time there and she surely couldn't have been dressed like that at their family mansion.

[identity profile] closeincline.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh~ Good point!! I guess I hadn't thought about the ark... But then why would the windows be broken do you think? Also, when here http://www.onemanga.com/D.Gray-Man/184/012/ right under Lenalee thinking that he looked like a different person, what is that? It looks like a city... what does that mean?

[identity profile] wentwarth.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
I think that Tyki reacted to whatever is going on with Allen\14th and blacked out, like he did in the first Ark, breaking the window with sound wave - note how he is not cut at all, even though he is sitting in front of it.

Oh. I missed that panel, when reading. *facepalms* It can be the city that Ark is connected to, but it's far more likely that Noahs simply are in that skyscraper.

[identity profile] closeincline.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but like, skyscraper? Dude, "fictional end of the 19TH CENTURY" so wtf, skyscraper?

And yeah, good point on the glass thing, it probably was Tyki's fault...jeez, I am so curious...

[identity profile] wentwarth.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not that tall. I suppose there could have been buildings like that in America.. But even if there weren't, I can overlook it, in spite of traffic lights that were presented in the same chapter. *rolls eyes*

Me too~ Let's hope that Hoshino doesn't drop Noahs' storyline for another eleven months.

[identity profile] closeincline.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
She isn't allowed to... now that she has flaunted that intersting and confusing and important plots events are taking place in the Noah camp, she needs to keep us updated!!

(and the traffic lights made me every curious... I mean, what the hell?)

[identity profile] subaru-san.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
I just have to wonder if we're going to go into a specific story arc, the way the Suman and Ark arcs were, or if she will just keep presenting us with little looks into what's going on with everyone.

[identity profile] lishypo.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
The inside of the original Ark looks like a city, too, just a different kind of city. So who's to say the new Ark's version wouldn't be different?

[identity profile] closeincline.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right, the new ark could be a completely different thing....

[identity profile] lishypo.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
When Allen stabbed Road during his fight with Lavi on the Ark, it didn't work because it wasn't her actual body, more like an astral projection or some such. So I figured she's cut up because it's really her there with Tyki and not an illusion.

[identity profile] cattheterrible.livejournal.com 2009-04-15 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
On the other hand, she got burned up when she entered the Rewinding Town and she was fine. Road is an odd duck.

The Earl said before that Tyki was suppressing his full power, and how excited he was that this part of Tyki 'woke up'. I think Allen's sword disrupted Tyki's balance and Tyki is fighting being taken over completely by the Noah. Roah does look a little glassy eyed there... I think she's afraid of losing Tyki too.

Here's a thought... Allen's sword didn't exorcise Tyki or Allen, so what if that sword has to stike every Noah in order to work? Maybe because the Noah is essentially part of a whole, each Noah must be marked in order to create a chain reaction exorcism. Every part of the Noah must be destroyed before it can be exorcised. Tyki and Allen are the first part of the link and may start reacting in sympathy to each other... maybe.

[identity profile] cattheterrible.livejournal.com 2009-04-15 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
I like this theory! But Skinn was already destroyed... would he be a missing link? Or is it okay since they just need to be pwned, and not necessarily pwned by Allen?

[identity profile] lishypo.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
I always thought there was something very special about Tyki since this (http://www.onemanga.com/D.Gray-Man/93/01/) part of the manga. That page and the second after, Road trails off and we never find out what it is she's about to say. I'm not entirely sure of what she's talking about there, she might just mean that Tyki's nature is different from the rest of them because of the way he suppresses his Noah, but her expression seems to suggest more than that.

Road obviously understands what's going on with Tyki, her being the oldest and closest to the earl would mean she understands the most about what they are, or at least that's what I think. I agree that she's probably afraid of losing him; if it was a Noah outburst that caused the destruction in that building (and I feel positive that it was), it makes it seem like he's losing himself to the Noah completely. Because Tyki suppressed it for so long, it seems like he has no control over it.

And also, the reflection in the broken glass around Road in the last panel of the last page, is that Tyki's Noah? Is it grinning because it's getting stronger? Then again, I've never seen the Noah in that form not grin. Or could it actually be Road's Noah, since it's around her? And would that mean her Noah is actually happy, whereas she herself seems resigned to Tyki's not-looking-so-good fate?

[identity profile] subaru-san.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
Allen's situation seems to be worse though, since it seems he blacks out whenever the 14th appears, and has no memory of it happening either.

On a totally separate and random note, in this chapter, I thought Tim's thought bubble of a toilet on that one page was rather funny. :P

[identity profile] subaru-san.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably she got questions asking what was happening to Tyki, especially after this whole incident with Allen.

Maybe Tim thought Allen was getting up to go potty?

[identity profile] iris-irin3.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Er, I was thinking about this...
Before, the Earl said to Tyki that a previous Noah (before Tyki awakened as a Noah) existed, and that person is the fourteenth Noah. So, could it be that the 14th Noah is actually the Noah of "Pleasure"? So maybe Allen and Tyki's Noahs are resonating to each other.

It's just my speculation, though..

[identity profile] kupodesu.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm, I was thinking that Allen and Tyki's connection at the moment has to do with the fact they were both stabbed by Crown Clown. Crown Clown seems to like forcing out the Noahs or something...or so it seems.

My thoughts on Road was that she looked like she knew what was going on, but she was refusing to answer Tyki. Like, she knows but she won't tell Tyki. I can't explain it properly...but yep, there's my two cents on it :)

[identity profile] aion-walker.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks like Tyki still hold his inner Noah to come up within his body... About Allen, I kinda agree with you. Allen's hair became curly when turned into 14th (which scared Tim lol) and my friends also said, "Is that Tyki with white hair???"

*sos* I like Tyki when his hair short...with long hair, he looks like a psycho or stressed...(sorry for Ty-pon fans DX)

Aaargh! When Lavi come out?! DX

[identity profile] aion-walker.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe~ XD

My english? Uuum...I'm not using english in my everday life so...many typos, bad grammar, etc.

[identity profile] kupodesu.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Another one for the Tyki with shorter hair :D I thought he had a towel over his hair or something when he showed up in this chapter.

[identity profile] aion-walker.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Really? O.O

I didn't realize it...

[identity profile] kupodesu.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
He doesn't actually, but it looked like it at first :P

[identity profile] subaru-san.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I've never been a fan of long-haired bishounen except Kurama, so... yeah. I'm adding my vote for short-haired Tyki.

[identity profile] aion-walker.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ahaha ^^

Kanda has a long hair ^^
