Obviously, comments will contain spoilers.

We still in Kanda's flashback or something?
This is the problem with monthly chapter updates, it's difficult to keep track of everything.

But yes, she does have a bad habit of packing people onto a bus and forgetting about them for a while.

Okay, we're in Kanda's past, but we see now from the view of Allen and Rhode?
And who is she? e___e
I miss Lavi and the others.
Where are she?

My guess for the woman is that Kanda was grown from the genes of an expired exorcist, and the "core memories" that the researchers mentioned are the memories of the original exorcist that he was made from (which would make this girl the wife/lover?). I'm hoping we learn more about that soon.
I miss Lavi too. Here's hoping we get more of him soon.

this reminds me of Syaoran seeing Kurogane's past in TRCI wanna see a meeting between young!Kanda and Tiedoll, should be interesting xD

You might be in luck, with his chance meeting of Bak and Marie, we may just yet see him meet Tiedoll (he is supposed to save Marie's life, isn't he? *thinks about the off hand comment Marie makes to Allen about him and Kanda being alike*).
And Young!Bak is so nerdy and cute, I love it.

I'm pretty sure that when Maire spoke of someone saving his life, it was Kanda? And he said "the one who saved me", so I wonder if it was actually physically saving his life or something else, now... considering how in the memory he's all, WOO I'LL DIE NEXT CAN'T WAIT

Things I want more explanation on:
~Cross's disappearance. I don;t believe he is dead. He is a powerful magic user (the only magic user we've heard about aside form the earl), and they said that the amount of blood loss would kill a human. Interesting choice of words.
~Lavi. It's my theory that he is actually the Heart of Innocence. We still don;t know if he is actually human, what the Bookmen clan are exactly (other than chroniclers of the secret history), and what the eye patch is all about. It's been said their is an eye under there and that it is significant to the story. I want more, please!
~The Noah clan: till now we've only seena handful of them, and now suddenly the whole rest fo them are showing up (and the art style is such that they all sort of lokoalike to me XD). And what was it with the formal ball scene? I really need to hear more about these guys to understand it all better. I thought I had it figured out after the Ark, but now I'm lost again.
~The 3rd side to the war: I have a feeling there is going to be a rebellion against the Order by some of the exorcists. All the dirty secrets are coming out now and I won't be surprised to see Allen and Kanda go rouge (and possibly Lavi and Bookman, though on their own agenda).

On Cross- I didn't know he used magic. @@
On Lavi- I don't beleive he's the heart. I think Allen and Lenalee are both the heart. Only they're Innocence has protected them from death. And I can provide an explanation on his eye. He got shot in the eye when he was little, so that's why he wears an eye patch. It's a small spoiler I read about.
I agree with you on the Noah Clan. It's all confusing.
On the 3rd side of the war- I don't doubt it. Kanda was made by and for the Order, so I don't believe he hates them. Allen might betray the Order.

PLus he uses some spells on the akuma egg to delay the download while Allen figures out the piano.
I have to disagree about Lenalee and Allen being the Heart. The Innocenece is evolving, which is why Lenalee's becomes the first Crystal type weapon that fuses with her blood to draw power. Remember how she said that before the upgrade, her Dark Boots were always painful and heavy? Lavi, upon first meeting Allen, tells him that no matter how large he makes the hammer, it is light as a feather. His synch rate with his Innocence is seemingly much higher than Lenalee's was given both the ease with which he uses it and the power he holds (hard to say now as he hasn't battled with the hammer alongside of her new boots yet). Plus it has that beautiful paradox where as a Bookman he is not supposed to be attached to anything (on Anita's ship he says he has no need for a heart). Bookman wrns him after Lenalee's crystal upgrade not to synch any further with his Innocence, or they'll be forced to leave the Order to preserve their role an impartial observer. To me, this is totally setting him up to fulyl release his Innocenece and reveal that he is the Heart. Jsut my thoughts on it. :)

Wait I don't recall that conversation at all. Then how would you explain Allen's Innocence protecting him? It brought him back to life. And I know someone, maybe it was Bookmnan, saying that Innocence had never done that before.

Bookman does say that the Innocence has never acted out before, but then after the discussion of Crystal type weapons, he also ponders why the Earl hasn't crushed the order yet, and hypothesizes that the Earl is letting the Order stay alive for a reason:

I wonder if he's trying to force the Exorcists to expose the Heart to save him the trouble of looking for it? By forcing the Exorcists to fully release their Innocence like this? They've certainly set the stage for a bunch of power upgrades to take place. I, of course, am totally making guesses here. I'm very interested to see hat happens next!

It's been a while since I've read dgm. It went on hiatus and I got distracted.
I doubt it what would be in it for him?
I'm sorry I'm not very stimulating of a conversation, like I said it's been a while since I've read most of this.

I think forcing the Order's hand will make things easier for the earl in his quest to destroy the Heart. Why keep searching for it all over the world when he can get the Exorcists to reveal it to him by leveling up? He's already got Allen and Lenalee on the radar now because of this. I'm sure we'll find out in due time. :)
no subject
Yeah but what would Bookman care about it? He's only there to watch.

I don't think Cross is dead either. I'm waiting for him to show up again and kick ass, probably after Allen and Kanda defect form the Order (this is my guess for the 3rd side to the war thing - that the Order's dark secrets will make Allen and some of the others go rouge and try to take hem down/reform).
It certainly isn't boring, and the unanswered questions make for great fanfic fodder. ^_^

I also have a theory, given this latest issue, that Cross bound Maria up in her grave to prevent her from being used as material for 2nd Apostles like Kanda. Back when she first showed up, they said that she used to be an Exorcist, but she died, and through Magic he keeps her zombified and able to access her Innocence.
My guess is that he's something else entirely--neither Human nor Noah, and that taking on the mask was part of what Cross promised to the 14th before he died. MAN, I miss him!
no subject
You have to wonder about Maria. What made her so special that he would go through the trouble of using magic like that, especially when it's implied that it's totally taboo to do so?
Cross fangirls, yes? He is so awesome. XD

The only point I didn't like of the actual arc, is exactly the beginning. Too abrupt, like it had no connection with the story before this one.
I've been confused with Hoshino's style since the Timothy arc. The reunited Noah party with all the mess around Alma Karma, it's like it has nothing to do with old times. Don't know how to explain.
BTW, I'm very happy to know FINALLY Kanda's past. I didn't expect all this drama, not this much, but I'm "enjoying?" (suffering with) it and can't wait for more explanations.
In the other hand, for sure I miss Miranda, Lavi, Timothy, and the rest of the people in the HQ (well, I don't miss Lenalee at all...). But for now we're in the middle of something that was necessary to know, so please, just wait and be patience.
Cross isn't dead, he's just doing things in his usual way...

N-not that I really, really mind. Only a bit. Because little!Kanda is too darn cute.

Allen's arc with the 14th issue isnt even over yet! DXXXXX

At the beginning of the chapter it looked like Alma was going to die at the end of the arc, so it would make sense that Kanda thinks Allen being so self-sacrificing is an idiot move, because Alma died that way, but... Is Alma the one who's taking over their minds... I'm still a bit confused about what's going on *has been WAY out of the loop until a few days ago*

Meanwhile, I'll be over there, fangirling Marie even more. T~T

On the one hand we have Alln, who was abandoned for being disfigured, traveled with a circus, then was picked up by a clown, who by the way, was actualy lthe brother to the that betrayed the Millenium Earl and was actually prepping Allen because, well we know why. Then Mana dies and Allen calls him back and gets cursed by him, which has to be pretty freaking traumatizing. And on that note: Marian Cross. XD "nuff said.
Then we have Kanda, who appears to have been grown in a vat using the DNA of an expired exorcist. He gets experimented on daily, suffers hallucination and painful tests. Gets sentenced to be froezen/killed and ends up somehow back in the same Order that created and tortured him all his young life.
It's a tough call, but I'm going to make a choice and say Kanda because while Allen certaily had a lot to be angry and/or sad about, he seemed to have some happy memories buried in there as well. He got to travel the world, learn lots of cool things, and experience a bit of life. Kanda only knew the basement of the lab until (I assume) he became an exorcist himself and began exterminating akuma.
How did I do? XD (Izumi pwns, btw - we totally were not discussing what would happen if she and Cross were to ever meet)

Don't get me wrong, allen's past was pretty horrific but yeah, i feel a tad bit more for kanda.
i actually like how this story is turning out,we get a backstory on kanda but also learn more about the order. yeay, for katsura hoshino-sensei!
After recent chapters, i've come to adore alma, he's so bright and cheery for someone who experiences such horrors. he acts like a kid in such a horrible situation and to me that's amazing yet infinitely tragic when we see what has become of him.

(Anonymous) 2011-10-02 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)OMG that would be totally awesome, i bet Cross would be like wow. X )
Then no one would be calling Lenalee a 'strong woman',
i mean how can she even compare to Izumi sensei?!
