Manga discussion for recent chapters
Spoilers abound. If you're allergic to them, stay clear.
Well, 144 was the first chapter for 2008 and already, Hoshino-sensei has dropped us a "WTF is the mystery guy?" I'm not trying to speculate who the source of the laughter is. This discussion is to speculate on the general trend of the series.
1) We've definitely reached a point where the Earl isn't laughing as much as usual. With the Egg destroyed by the generals and Allen, we can safely say that Lulubell had failed her first manga mission. With no new Akumas to come for a long time, and Lulubell's wastage of her army, what would the Earl do? This leads to my second question.
2) The rest of the Noah family. Are the Noah found, or what? My personal guess (judging from Skin's case) is that something must trigger the Noah powers latent within them in order for them to "turn dark", so to speak. Would the Earl begin his tour of the world to find the rest?
3) Our dear Hitler-lookalike and Howard Link. I believe they don't have ill intentions, but their plan would somehow put the Order under greater danger from the Earl. Seriously, I can't imagine a cake-baker as truly evil.
4) The Science Department is now badly waxed after the invasion. Would Komui and his gang be able to repair two Innocence weapons in time AND forge Chaoji's weapon? Personally, I think not. Then again, with Bak Chan's help...
5) 144 marks the first time that Allen didn't get the short end of the stick after using Crown Clown Omega (Contrast the rescue of Miranda against Tyki's pwning of him in armour form AND the current arc before the generals hop in). Cross actually praised him again for reaching the 100% mark. (The first time was a curt remark that Allen "finally gave his Innocence a decent form".) So, the "Heart" question is again wide open.
Comments?
P.S. If you're the artist who posted a topless Lulubell in the old community, I salute you. Seems that Hoshino-sensei gave us just that, without the close up though =X.

3. Probably not evil. They're just your average cronies, more than likely. Although the 'secret mission' that Link's on may suggest there's more to them that they're letting on.
Which begs the question for me.... where on Earth are people getting this Leverrier>Hitler stuff? Barring the mustache, they really look nothing alike. If anything at all, Leverrier greater resembles a very loose manga adaptation of J. Jonah Jameson or something.
