Question about Chapter 184
So a while ago there was a discussion about where Allen's name came from. Mana obviously gave him his last name and someone wondered if he had also given him the name Allen. I think the general consensus was that Allen was too old when he and Mana met to not already have a name and that he probably wouldn't have taken well to someone just up and replacing his name.
And then this chapter happened and I am all kinds of confused all over again. What. Was the deal. With that dream? o.O
Why was Mana saying "Allen", in quotation marks? And then the disappearing name? What. The hell.
*Is massively bewildered and alarmed*
So - because of the previous discussion - my first thought was "well, maybe Allen actually answered to brat or something at the circus" and now as I'm writing this another (possibly more reasonable, and vastly more alarming) option came to mind - was Mana replacing Allen's with the Fourteenth's perhaps?
Sorry if this was evident to everyone. I am still not sure either way. Thoughts?
Also, did anyone notice that when Allen was pinned to the wall/thing the blood splashed behind him shaped wings?
Allen's face when he realized he was in a dream = hilarious

So what does Dead Gray-Man mean?! And what's with the hyphen? The gray-man has two dead people in his head? *doesn't want to consider the other possibilities...but does anyways* Someone came up with the idea that Allen was an akuma, modified by Cross (it does not help that in the original premise and inspiration for DGM, Zone, featured an Allen look-alike who was an akuma ;_;) So...if it's Dead Gray-Man, and the "dead" isn't referring to Mana and/or the 14th...*does not waaaaaaant* ;_;
I don't think Allen's an Akuma. But what if he were dead in some other way? Or maybe it could be a metaphorical death - ie the Noah takeover. *and of course, all of this assuming that D. stands for Dead*
I hope we're towards the end of the middle - I want answers dammit!

But Allen died a long time ago before he even got the crowned clown. He felt death way back when he encountered Tyki as a Noah the first time.
And knowing a bit of Japanese, I could imagine D standing for dead but not necessarily saying the guy is dead. More like having to do with the dead, which Allen does have a lot to do with the dead. He talks to souls.

Your icon cracks me up every time I see it! It's such a rare face for Allen to make!

And thank you. I have my own series so I'm always paying a lot of attention to potential plot developments to keep sharp.

Series? Do you write (or draw)?

I both write and draw since it's a manga. ^.^ It's in English but I may make a Japanese translation someday.. x_X I'm just no good at boy language yet, and the main character is this gruff low class boy.
