Below the cut is the cover for volume 18 and some possible news on the current hiatus.

Possible News on the Manga's Hiatus

According to TitaniumChloride's post at MangaHelpers.com, a poster at 2chan said that Hoshino published a statement in the Japanese 18th volume that she plans to return to serialization sometime in the summer and volume 19 will be released in December. That's a long way away, huh? ^_^; She also stated the heights and blood types of Timothy and Emilia:

Timothy - Height:131cm; Blood Type O
Emilia - Height: 165cm; Blood Type A

It is currently June the 2nd in Japan and the 18th volume will be released June the 4th. The release date at Amazon.co.jp still says a June 4th release date here, and I've been reading June and/or June the 4th everywhere else. So I speculate that chances are that somebody on 2chan got a slightly early copy, read their volume, and posted the news. So although all of this news is unconfirmed, it's still likely it could turn out to be true.

Well, Mangahelpers.com has confirmed this news spoiler to be false here. Sorry everyone! And it seemed like it could turn out for the better in such a drought of DGM news. >w<; I shall keep an eye out for any good news (hopefully confirmed next time).

Volume #18's Cover

Here's a medium sized scan of volume 18's cover here! (Click the spoiler tag to see it.) I wonder if the cover is from a blown up scan from this advertisement from Weekly Shounen Jump Issue 27 (last week's issue).

Yeah, I'm hoping it isn't going to be the end of September when she comes back. I know Hoshino does a lot of reasearch for DGM's story. Hopefully she isn't using all this time to research Istanbul, (where Kanda, Lenalee, Allen, and Link are going to next)?

That accusation has not been confirmed.

It's a rumour and has always been such and until there is an official statement regarding that subjectn I think it's best if the speculation and rumour of plagiarism is kept to a minimum.

I can wait for the summer, even if by that she means in September, because I've waited longer for other things, like the second Fullmetal Alchemist anime or the anime for Kobato. (Which actually I'm still waiting for because it's a fall release date even though it was announced a while back)

Glad to brighten your day. ;) I remember waiting on the first anime season of Vampire Knight. I was so excited and had waited for so long and then the season ended up sucking overall. XP Though DGM always seems to come back with more riveting plot line hole developments! =D So much more fun than VK! Btw, I saw the first episode of the new Fullmetal Alchemist anime, and it was pretty good. :3

Although not likely, you can always check http://community.livejournal.com/weeklyjump/ for issue #28's lineup of comics for this week in Jump. The lineup should be posted in about a day, give or take. Whatever is in issue 28 will be released this Friday.

It does make sense that vol 18 doesn't reveal any news from Hoshino (vol 18 should have been finished its edit just right after DGM's hiatus.)
btw, it might be too early to get any news (Hoshino usually takes three - four month break) Hope it will return right after a series of 5 oneshot manga ends
